I don't think the cast has been announced yet. Glad it's coming to the National, rather than the Kennedy Center. I really wish it was coming to Arena or Signature due to the more intimate spaces (and cheaper ticket prices for students). But regardless, can't wait to see it in the fall.

There's no way they would hire Casey Nicholaw to direct if they didn't want big splashy dance show, and intimate theatres with small stages won't work with that type of show. Dear Evan Hansen worked because there are like 8 people. Imagine Something Rotten in the Kreeger.

i cannot wait to see who will be in this cast! it's my favorite movie so i've been anxious for this adaptation for years now. still thinking about making the trip out to D.C. for it this fall
"Contentment, it seems, simply happens. It appears accompanied by no bravos and no tears."
I have my subscription tickets for November 4th and super excited to hear about casting. Stephanie J Block, would be amazing and she is my favorite actress so that would be an absolute treat for me.
“6 AM. The sky glows. Somewhere a bird chirps. I want to shoot it.” ~ Jonathan Larson, Tick...Tick..BOOM
^^ Not that I've heard. And I've been following pretty closely. Pretty excited about this one, especially considering i live in DC. I scored opening night. I hope Tina Fey is there
The only thing I've read regarding casting is that The Plastics, Janis, Damian, Mrs. Heron/Ms. Norbury/Mrs. George (all played by one woman), and Mr. Duvall have been cast. The notice says they are still seeking Cady, Aaron, and Kevin in addition to some ensemble.
Am I hearing this correctly? The Plastics, Janis, Damian, Mrs. Heron, Ms. Norbery, and Mrs. George are being played by one person? Can that even be humanly possible?
^What I think he was trying to say is Cady's Mom/Regina's Mom/ and Ms. Norbury are going to be played by one person a la Hairspray with the Female Authority Figure.
"Anybody that goes to the theater, I think we’re all misfits, so we ended up on stage or in the audience.” --- Patti LuPone.
I think Jacob meant that Mrs. Heron/Ms. Norbury/Mrs. George are played by one woman. The other characters were separated by commas, and these characters separated by slashes.

What day is the official opening night? Or were you referring to the first preview?

The premier/first preview (Oct 31). Sorry I didn't use appropriate wording
