Since it's being produced by Lorne Michaels, I wonder what the chances are the cast or Tina and her husband makes an appearance on SNL to promote the show in some way.

Because Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried, Lacey Chabert, and Rachel McAdams looked like high schooljuniors in the film....? Not to mention Lizzy Caplan andDanielFranzese."
lindsay was only 18 when she was in Mean Girls, i thought she looked perfect for the character.
as for the music, if Jeff Richmond's work on 30 Rock or Kimmy Schmidt is any indication then we have nothing to worry about with this show. he's a fantastic comedy music writer, and his orchestral scoring is also terrific
"Contentment, it seems, simply happens. It appears accompanied by no bravos and no tears."
I can't help but feel that Taylor Louderman and Kate Rockwell should be playing each other's parts. As great as she seems to be as Karen, I feel that she can also more easily embody the bitchy, mean, Regina type more effortlessly than Louderman can. On that same token, I think that Louderman can embody the airhead, Karen type much easier than Rockwell can.

I think having these actresses play characters which are seemingly against their natural grains would make for a better performance. I don't think a show like Mean Girls necessarily needs a "layered" performance, but The Little Foxes with Cynthia Nixon playing Birdie and Laura Linney playing Regina - complete opposite of what normally play with ease - showed how taking actors outside their comfort zone can result in mind-blowing performances. I feel BECAUSE Kate looks smart, her being an airhead would be really funnier. And because Taylor's looks fits the stereotype of someone who could be an airhead, her turning into this shrewd conniving person would be funnier.
How's that for complicated well reasoned argument, BWW?

I'm sorry but even for the theater where age doesn't matter as much, these women just look ridiculous playing 16-17 year olds. Unless it's going to be a parody, or somehow set with them in post-post grad school, this is just stupid.
I don't think they look too old. They'll probably read just fine in the August Wilson. Ashley Park certainly doesn't look too old at all. Knowing Tina Fey, she'll probably write something in about them looking so old.
I'm not upset that they don't look like teenagers cause I know from the audience it won't really matter. I am however taken back by their clothing. As some one who just graduated high school these outfits are not an accurate depiction of what high school girls wear. They all look like a bunch of wine moms going out to a club not a mean high school clique.

So you never seen a high school girl in a dress? Been to a wedding? Prom? You have no idea what the costumes are going to look like."
High School girls do not wear thigh high dresses to school every day.... and definitely not prom.

This isn't a realistic adaptation of an American high school, so...
But that said yeah the two blondes seem...older? And Louderman just doesn't do it for me. Perhaps she'll be better in performance, but considering she was the "girl next door" type in Bring It On, it just seems like she's "playing" bitchy.

Exactly George. I know these won't be the final costumes, but for marketing purposes. I don't think they work. They age up all three of these women and make the look like they are from desperate housewives. I'm not making any judgments about the show just yet. I have high hopes.

Thanks for further emphasizing that this is a promotional video and not a documentary on the attire of high school girls. But let's keep over analyzing this.

Kate played Margot in Legally Blonde and she's an airhead. Also Sherrie in Rock of Ages and she was an airhead at times too.
