I think the only time I have actually teared up was in Light in the Piazza after Fabrizio's father calls off the wedding and they all leave. Clara doesn't understand what is happening and is asking why no one will even look at her. She just seems so innocent and lost, it's heartbreaking.
That moment in Piazza is definitely heartbreaking.

"You alone can make my song take flight... its over now! the Music of the night!"
"It's a far far better thing I do than I have ever done"
"I am the one who watched while you die"
"Will you join in our crusade, who will be strong and stand with me"
"A big, bright, beautfiul world... but not for me..."
"But It's not to be, IF i Can't love her... Let the world be done! With ME!"
The gasp in SITPWG
New Music in Ragtime (When the cast came out on the fire escapes...literally took my breath away)
What Would You Do from Cabaret gets me every time too.
"I am the one who watched while you die"
I am completely drawing a blank here. Where is this from?
Generally I'll only do it at one performance and then I won't the next time, but basically half of Les Mis, the end of Phantom, and the scene where Angel dies in Rent always get me.
Other than those, though, I'm normally not one to cry at sad shows. I think being in a high school production of Carousel killed it for me. Billy would be onstage committing suicide and the rest of the cast would be in the wings quietly whispering and dancing. So now that's all I can really think of when a sad scene comes up - the chorus electric boogaloo-ing just offstage. LOL.
Next to Normal, Little Sally.
"One Day More" in "Les Miserables" always breaks me.
Specifically, "A Little Priest" in the revival of "Sweeney Todd"... I was sobbing... I embarassed everyone I was with.
"Sunday in the Park with George": "Color & Light" when Jenna Russell and Daniel Evans sang "I could look at him/her forever."
I cried from "Ladies Who Lunch" through "Being Alive" at the revival of "Company."
I have seen a lot of theatre but the one moment that stands out for me was seeing Charlotte D'Amboise do Music and the Mirror in the revival of A Chorus Line. As a dancer, I had heard of A Chorus Line in my younger days but only knew the opening number and "One" so I expected a fun, light show. I never expected to be so riveted by the emotional impact of the show. I completely lost it when she said "I'm putting myself on the line, I'm putting myself on your line". And later I lost it again when Zack says "If today were the day you had to stop dancing, how would you feel"
Thank you! I feel foolish for not knowing that, considering how many times I've listened to that cast recording.
When Brooks asks Little Edie in Grey Gardens if he needs any help with her luggage, and she looks at the floor and says "I'm extremely organized. . "
I ****ing LOST it!

In the "On the Town" Revival NYC 1971. "Some Other Time", which was the only honest moment in a very over-glitzed and ill-directed (Ron Field) production. But suddenly it was really true...and I was young and impresssssionable. Bernadette Peters, Phyllis Newman, Ron Raines and....???? I forget

Right, but Donna wasn't in "Some Other Time", as I remember it. I was trying to remember the other guy.

Right before "I Wish I Could Go Back To College" begins in AVENUE Q... when Rod says, "Christmas Eve... I miss Nicki." Gets me every time.
For me it was "Everything I Know" from In The Heights. For what it's worth, it still makes me cry. The ending of Next To Normal made me tear up too the first time I saw it.

When I saw Caroline, Or Change, I cried from "I Hate the Bus" through the end.
The first time I saw Little Shop of Horrors (the recent national tour) I cried all through the 'Somewhere That's Green' reprise all through the scene where Seymour places Audrey in the plant.
The only time I can recall is at the very end of "Deuce" when Angela Lansbury and Marian Seldes, as the two retired tennis players, take their final bow. The admirer character comes out and says, I'm paraphrasing, "Take a good look at these two women. Remember them as they are. You will never see their like again." I just bawled the first time, and last time, I saw it. Art imitating life. In fact, I took the back of my hand to my eyes just now.
