The first time I heard Sutton Foster sing, I was completely in awe. At the time, I couldn't even fathom someone singing that well. I've also had experiences like that with Patti and Idina. I really could go on forever, but those three are my main "Musical Heroes."
One time, Patti LuPone punched me in the face...

Going to agree about Julie Andrews and Aaron Lazar, as well as adding Christine Ebersole and Brian Stokes Mitchell.

I chose, and my world was shaken- So what?

Christine Ebersole most definitely.

Ed Ames....from the time I was a very little girl listening to my Dads records, his voice touched my very soul. To this day his version of "Try To Remember" is my very favorite song.
I have RSD...but it doesn't have me!!!!

I know there are many more experienced, classic performers out there, but no one's voice has ever done to me what Julia Murney's does. If she's singing the right song, the world can stop for me. I'm sure it's unhealthy.

Lea Salonga... woman is awesome... and it's a rarity for there to be prominent Filipino role models in the media... she's famous to the point where you don't know she's famous (people know her voice more than her image)...

Patti LuPone- I loved her in Sweeney Todd, but then I heard her on the Evita OBCR. Wow. I have never heard that kind of a voice.
Also, Ray Bolger. While I don't know him frm his work on Broadway (On Your Toes, Where's Charley?), I still admire him and the kind of performer he is.

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

My musical heroes...Jeez, too many to name, but as it stands I'm GREATLY inspired by Michael Cerveris (the connection he's able to make with his audiences is astounding, and I try to do the same with mine), Norbert Leo Butz (his diversity, how he adds a certain something to EVERY role he takes on), Jeff McCarthy (the voice, goodness, the power - I strive to be and present (and tend to sound A LOT) like him, and Robert Cuccioli (who I've idolized since I was roundabout 9 years old!) He's one of my favorites... I'll compile a list sometime!

Gavin Creel's voice just...does it for me. I find it to be pretty much perfect. I swoon whenever I listen to him.
Brian d'Arcy James too, but in a completely different way. Both are great performers.

I've never been as entranced by a performance as I was by Raul Esparza in Company.

I don't have time to elaborate, but definitely Julia Murney. Also on there would be Idina Menzel and Lea Michele.
