kyle selig has two albums, one called “and the tree was happy” and another called “she breathes”. she breathes is a perosnal favorite of mine, i’ve had it playing nonstop for months now

She's probably best known now as a recording artist/concert singer, but Linda Eder did get her big break with Jekyll & Hyde. My personal favorites of her albums are It's No Secret Anymore and Broadway My Way.

Leslie Odom Jr. has released a terrific pop/jazz album, as well as a really sweet Christmas album.

Jason Robert Brown has an excellent solo album. Also, the album Sara Bareilles recorded of songs from Waitress is great.

For popular music Shoshana Bean, Gavin Creel, Lea Michele, and Laura Bell Bundy are the only ones who make anything bearable to me.
If you like sopranos then Kate Baldwin, Liz Callaway, Kelli O'Hara, Rebecca Luker, Melissa Errico, Kristin Chenoweth, etc.
For guys, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Cheyenne Jackson, Billy Porter, and Leslie Odom Jr.
Standards and anything "jazzy" is hit or miss. I like Ana Gasteyer but you've really got to listen around and decide for yourself. I think a lot of those efforts come across as lazy considering what their voices are capable of. Not naming names.
Then there are the obvious ones... Patti, Liza, Barbra, etc.

Rachel Bay Jones' solo album is just the best. Folk versions of musical theatre songs didn't appeal to me much on paper, but her voice is amazing and the arrangements are great.

I like Brown's "Wearing someone else's Clothes". I actually prefer Bareilles' "What's Inside.." over the cast recording.

In an earlier Broadway time almost every star had solo albums (luckily many available on CD):
Julie Andrews, Mary Martin, Carol Lawrence, Barbara Cook, Ethel Merman, John Raitt, Dolores Gray, Gwen Verdon (a favorite), and dozens more. I am glad that this welcome contribution to our music continues! Sometimes the arrangements were unique perhaps giving a 50s or 60s flavor to the songs that they didn't have in their OBC recordings.

AGREED. Her cover of "Hold On" has been on repeat all day and "Nobody's Side" makes me want a Chess revival.
