cmleidi, if I don't check my jacket, why would I check my cell phone? I'm sure it's a safe environment, but who knows what can happen?
etoile, I'm not in the mood to fight. I admitted that I'm in the wrong for having the phone out, as much as they're in the wrong for suspecting me of bootlegging, just because the phone was out and 1 actor saw it. The other actors, most of whom stood in front of me the entire duration of the show, had no idea it was even out. They professed that they didn't look towards the audience. As you said, it's just my side of the story.
I've never been accused of bootlegging, in all my years of going to the theater. It's a preposterous idea. Even if I were to record a show (and I don't have the technological capability), The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial wouldn't even be close to my top 20.
As for non-students getting student tickets, I say it's not for me to decide. The box office chooses to sell the tickets the way they see fit. I don't have an opinion.
And I have voiced a negative opinion of Marissa Tomei. No matter where you see a person, if you're crossing the street, accidentally bump into someone, apologize to that person, and they still give you a dirty look, it's nasty.
All of these reasons don't make real sense to me. Its more of a terrorist threat than anything. New York is not that trustworthy in the theaters and they have to go about it in a rough way. The security guard was being protective it seems. If I needed to check the time, I would bring a watch. ACTORS HAVE TO DO THEIR JOBS OR THEY ARE FIRED!
"This is a stupid story. It never stops. But we keep making lemonade! We're opening the biggest f***ing lemonade stand you ever saw!"

Wow, that other thread she started about Ivanek didn't last long!
But when did New Hampshire become--Such a backward wasteland of seatbelt hating crazies?...I mean, only 40 people actually live there. The others are just visitors who come for the tax-free liquor and three inches of novelty coastline. John Hodgeman on The Daily Show (1-30-07)
Even if someone taped parts of a show, what is so terrible? The quality of the cell phone videos is horrible and of short duration. Do the producers think you will sell the tape? Since 9-11, you are stopped from taking photos at airports, yet detailed photos of all the aircraft are easily accessible on the Internet. We are gradually losing all of our freedoms in the USA.
