Nancy just posted on Facebook that she's performing in place of Glenn today! Man, I wish I didn't have plans already and could go!

This is the only thing that could have gotten me back to this show. So bummed there wasn't more notice.
Ms Close didn't manage the whole London run either. It seems only fair Ms Anderson is granted the courtesy of doing the job she was prepared for.

Glenn is allowed to take a performance off, seems like she was sick as it is. And no, an understudy is not owed any courtesy pity performance. It is hardly fair or unfair.
can anyone grab me an extra playbill with her insert in it? thanks. i will pay for shipping.
Looks like this was a last minute decision by Close, otherwise I think they would have cancelled.

Nobody said she was owed anything so get off your high horse. Perhaps "logical" is a more precise word than "fair" but the point is, they clearly cast an understudy for a reason. The producers clearly decided Ms Anderson was good enough to play the role. She why not seize the opportunity to see a different performance? As London demonstrated, most audience members adored the understudy- some even preferred her.
No need to be such a tight-arse!

To be fair you sounded like a "tight-arse" yourself in your original post.
Any reports? I'm sure she did just fine. How many audience members stayed, and were they supportive?

I shared my experience on the original thread. Page 45.

...and so glad that photo exists...^^^
It would be nice to see a Norma who can sing the score as written.
... Even if it's an understudy.
Another great image I found...
