I'm looking at tickets for All the Way at the Neil Simon and was wondering if the front row mezz would be better than mid orchestra. Tickets are very expensive, but really want to see the show well. Advice? Much thanks.
Just as long as you don’t get the very last row in the balcony, you will be fine- The theatre isn’t that big. However, Front Row Mezz is usually the best choice, but it all depends on where the Mezz starts in the theatre- At the Simon, it’s a pretty great seat- especially because you have nothing in front of you but the stage.
I just sat in the front row center mezzanine for BIG FISH the week before it closed. The seats were great with an excellent view of the stage. I'd highly recommend them.
It's a great, rather intimate theatre. I sat in the mezz all three times I saw HAIRSPRAY. Great views every time. So much history in this theatre.. from Merm bringing down the house singing "I've Got Rhythm" in GIRL CRAZY in 1930 to Dorothy Loudon and company doing their thing 40 years later in ANNIE. Go and enjoy!
Middle of the orchestra you may wear your neck out constantly shifting right and left to see around the heads in front of you. Your view from front row mezzanine will be totally unobstructed! Go for that!
