When there were no spring breakers in town, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday have all been easy to rush. Basically the only days you'd have to wait more than 45 minutes is on Sat/Sun
I'm sure jordangirl will be around to post about this later, but it seems that for the 2nd day in a row, they are not selling the front row for rush. She was first on line and got D7 and D9. My friends were first on line Sunday and got C7 and C9, then D7 and D9.
I hope they haven't permanently changed the location of the orchestra seats for rush.
I'm guessing it might be because there are people from the press and other guests there. I bet it will go back to the way it was after tomorrow. (Friday would be the next performance.) We really can't complain-the people around us who didn't rush paid a lot more than we did. I still say it's the best deal in town. (I'm biased of course.)
Yep. That's what happened. I didn't want to piss off our "favorite" worker, so I didn't ask. I may try tonight if it's not slammed ~ just to see if this is a holdover from press weekend or a new policy.
I just don't think that they would put press people in the front row, when it's not really a great seat.
I hope it goes back to normal soon (or at least, something next to normal...come on, you knew that was coming!)

Does anyone know if the boxoffice sells rush tickets for the Sunday evening show the same time as the matinee? I would hate to stand in line and then they tell me to come back later. I live out of town and would not have any time available to ask myself before Sunday's show. Thanks
As far as I know yes, evening and matinee are on sale at the same time.

I was thinking of rushing next month. I know they do not let you choose your seats from what they have, but do we know if they are back to giving front row/box seats or still Row C or D and then some front row or whatever?
Do they do front row before box seats if it's back to that?
One more thing, have we figured out what time is best to get there on Saturday's yet?
Thanks guys!
I'll be there tomorrow and hope that rush is back in its regular location in the front row.
As for choosing your seats, it depends on who is running the window, and whether or not Ursula the Sea Witch is manning the lobby that morning.
Who is this woman in the lobby I keep hearing about? I haven't run into her at the show yet (and I've gone quite a few times so far).
She sounds like a nut.
That unkind woman is making me happy I bought a TDF ticket for Sunday night instead of rushing. I hope they've gone back to front row seating.
Oh, Adam! I'll be rushing tomorrow too!
Really? I had NO idea. What a "coincidence". LOL.
Who is this woman in the lobby I keep hearing about? I haven't run into her at the show yet (and I've gone quite a few times so far).
She's the short, dark-haired Indian woman who wears the blue, Shubert Organization coat with grey stripes that unlocks the door in the morning.

I'm always unsure when it doesn't say explicitly: is it cash only?
ETA: Never mind. the one page of the thread I hadn't read answered my question.
Just out of curiosity, are they still handing out the wrist bands at rush or was that a one time thing?
^^Wrist bands? Why do they hand those out?
The only rush I ever did that did was Chicago, and that was in 2002, I think. You showed up at 8, to get a wrist band from the office at the Shubert with a number on it and then came back at 10 when the box office opened. I got there at 7:45, was first, waited until 8 for my wristband, then wandered over to watch the Today show in Rockefeller Center (and waved to my mom who I knew was watching at home :).
When I rushed last Sunday, they gave out wristbands. I'm not sure what the point was, since nobody left and came back, but the man at the box office took our wristbands along with our money when we got up to the window.
Maybe it was their way of counting and keeping track of how many tickets they needed, since it was a two-show day? My wristband had the date, performance time, and number of tickets written on it.
I rushed on Wednesday, got there about 7:45a and was fourth in line. They did give out wristbands at 9:30ish, though I think everyone who showed up by 10:00 got wristbands/tickets. They didn't really bother asking how many tickets everyone wanted. The guy tried to make me pay cash, but I told him I had paid with a credit card previously and he said he'd do it just this once. So I guess its back to cash only...

Jeez, so you had to wait around for two hours? I think I'd pass out.
It's fun. Bring a book or chat with the people around you. And you can sit down.
I'm glad they're making attempts to adapt the system to be a bit more organized. As much as I enjoy the show, the crowds in line are starting to get ridiculous.
I overheard one woman who was in front of me when I rushed telling people she sees the show "at least once a week," going on to say that she usually goes to both shows every Sunday (and gets there at an ungodly hour to ensure she gets the same seat every time.) This particular Sunday, she said she'd already seen the show three times over the course of the week and was rushing for both shows that day.
While the choice people make to see things as many times as they want is their own personal prerogative, I'll never understand that extreme level of obsession.
