Every comment about the semantics of "immersive" is annoying EXCEPT for yours, Dolly. :)

79. FWIW, one article listed her as the sole choreographer, another article said she had a co-choreographer...so we shall see.

Try not to judge the show based on that production, it’s easily the worst received major revival of this show that I know of.

Isn't there some anecdote about Jo Sullivan Loesser getting up and berating Des McAnuff after the final dress of that awful '09 revival? (When she was the one who blocked the Michael Grandage/Rob Ashford transfer from London with Ewan McGregor, Jane Krakowski, Doug Hodge, and Jenna Russell)

Wasn’t aware of such a thing, but I’m just glad somebody got reamed out for that awful rendition.
Anyway, I personally would be satisfied if they had just made an exact replica of the Jerry Zaks revival, but this sounds exciting, I hope it goes over well. Really interested in whoever plays Nathan and Adelaide.

If they brought back that revival I'd pay any amount of money!

If they were doing a truly immersive production of Guys and Dolls, it would have to be entirely rewritten to support such a structural change."
The Bridge did the "immersive" Midsummer and Julius Ceasar. Neither were inmersive just environmental. This will be the same with a few people standing.

I will say I've watched the Grandage one Youtube a few times, so clearly I don't mind the source material.

Not sure if you should really call a production “immersive” if 60% of the audience is sitting in standard theater seating- and those being the most expensive seats.

Adelaide will be played by an American who has found better success in Britain playing prominent roles in several recent West End revivals. Expect a full cast announcement soon.

Glad casting is coming soon. I’ve had my tix for a while, just hoping it would be casting that makes the trip worth it.

The rumour on theatreboard was Marisha Wallace, who indeed has found great success in the London revivals of Dreamgirls and Oklahoma (and also Waitress), and rightly so.
