Me too, I had to fast forward through their performances on the Broadway special. I doubt it will re-open.

Frankie Valli confirms it at about 2:30 in this clip from the Today Show this morning:

I got the feeling he was a lot better in How to Succeed, but I didn't see him in it.

Hahaha. Yeah, he was so laughable in that concert. When you have no autotune and you suck.... Don't be in a musical. Good thing this is a movie and his voice will be recorded in a studio and fixed for this movie that nobody asked for!

You know Nick got his start in musical theatre.

Yeah, I don't care, he sucks. It's my opinion, feel free to have another one though.

A great Gavroche does not necessarily a great Marius make, but maybe Jersey Boys is more in his wheelhouse. I've seen some, uh, iffy Frankies in my many times seeing Jersey Boys, so I'll probably be hard to faze, whatever the outcome.

This isn't a movie, though? It's a proshot. At least that's what the Deadline article implies. Obviously, that doesn't mean they won't do post-production on his voice, but still, it's not a movie.

Bye?

Yesterday night, the Jonas Brothers pre-taped their "Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular" performance - complete with a drone display and special guest Marshmello - outside the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I hear Nick is staying in Cleveland for a few more weeks due to Jersey Boys filming.

Seems like a random place to record the show. Was that the tour stop at the time of the pandemic?

I was wondering that too, but Des McAnuff mentioned Cleveland in an online Q&A/reunion thing back in April. I also thought it was weird but didn't get to ask why Cleveland.

Based on this PDF, though, the tour wasn't in Ohio in March 2020.

I think Nick will be great and I am so happy for his success.

There has to have been major tax breaks or something from the city or state to keep it in Cleveland.
Also, there is a website about goings on in Cleveland posted that Nick Jonas and his wife, Priyanka Chopra have been in the city. This was also picked up by iheartRadio online. They have called this a tv version, but then a "streaming event". So, I'm guessing a streaming service?

I would imagine so. The local touring presenter, PlayhouseSquare, announced a couple of years ago that it was pursuing tax breaks for out-of-town tryouts. Perhaps something's been worked out for filming.
The State Theatre (where the touring production always plays) has a very large stage and would be useful for filming, if that's the venue they're using.

So who else is in this besides John Rochette? (Who I thought was a great Tommy and Norm Waxman.)

Nick says it's been a couple of months in Cleveland working on this thing. Maybe I missed something, but is there anything else new about what this thing is or who it's for? Cool to see Andy Karl and Matt Bogart though.
