Frankly, the more outraged a Phantom fans become, the smarter the decision would tend to be.
What?
What?

What do you mean "What?" I think the statement is pretty clear.
"Underage" and " child" are two very different things. I am not defending or condemning anyone here, but if people insist on debating this man's past, can they at least pretend to do so accurately and display SOME sense of knowledge on the subject matter? Ignorance is so unbecoming when one attempts to judge another.

I'm pretty sure that a man in his late thirties who becomes sexually involved with a minor of that age is considered a "pedophile."

I read your post as saying that more fan outrage = a good casting decision on Phantom's part.

No need to "pretend" to do it accurately. It is horrendous enough.

Starship,
You would be absolutely incorrect.
A pedophile is someone attracted to a child.. The pre-pubescent body.

If you choose to condemn a man, please do so accurately, especially when the inflammatory word being used is absolutely inaccurate and is being used to fan the flames.

The whole thing is creepy. And for those of you being stuck on definitions let me remind you that a crime was committed and he IS a convicted felon. It will follow him for the rest of his life as it is doing right now.

And ode of you who are choosing to be inflammatory and attempt to convict someone of worse crimes are also a problem.

Kad, the fact that the Phantom pages were deleting/blocking comments is unnerving because there are fans around the girl's age (as it was at the time of the incident) who are trying to express their discomfort with the casting decision. Yes, I understand that it's bad business if the show's page is littered with negativity over the new lead, but that's the point. (You can disagree with me all you want, and that's fine.)

Again, I ask the people who are saying "he served his time, move on," what if it had been your daughter/sister/niece, etc? I'm not easily offended/outraged, but some of the comments here are disturbing.

"he IS a convicted felon."
Nope. He wasn't convicted of a FELONY making him...not a felon.

So was the conviction for statutory rape?
I guess then it would be more accurate to refer to him as a convicted rapist instead of a pedophile.

He pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a minor. Not rape.

"Convicted rapist" is still a pretty bad thing to have on your record.
