Just because it was written by the same people who did [title of show] doesn't mean you need to use brackets for the title...

The correct title is Now.Here.This.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Loved it too! Not going to be super specific while it is evolving but the overall concept is about the things in life that keep us from living in the moment and the courage it takes to do so. It was great to see them all back up on stage again!

What's the run time?

It isn't totally set, of course, but at the moment, around 80 minutes.

I'm a HUGE [title of show] fan, but I found this to be a little "same ole." Some cute songs, some sassy jokes from Susan, and a couple of sweet moments, but nothing really seemed to connect together other than adding a "reach in the mystery box" before every scene. Granted, this is a workshop of a "theatri-concert" and not a musical or an actual run. It was definitely worth my money and want to see it again towards the end.

Way for people on this board to respect their process and not talk about (or review) the show.

If the mods had any sense, they would delete any threads about the workshop.

I mean... they ARE charging $65 for this workshop... I think it makes sense for people to see if it's worth spending money to watch them in process.

I hear what Bettyboy is saying. I am a big believer in respect, but regretfully, this site has never been about respect. For example, there's a very disrespectful (to my mind) thread that a poster started about Neil Patrick Harris that has very little to do with Broadway. If the mods cared, they'd delete that thread, which has NOTHING to do with Broadway, and everything to do with that poster's "look at me, ain't I cool 'cause I'm not impressed that I'm near NPH?" attitude.

Is NPH a viable target because he went out in public? Because he tweeted? If so, then Now. Here. This. is also open to review by the hoi polloi because they are charging for tickets. It would be different if N. H. T. were being reviewed by the press, because they weren't invited - but offering tickets to the general public ? They have to know they're going to show up on the interwebs.

But, to be fair, that thread wasn't about slagging NPH. It was slagging the Tonys devoting their opening number to Company, a show that isn't really Tony-related this year.

That's one way of looking at it, Phyl. The way I see it, the beginning of the "Sitting next to NPH" thread is mostly about the poster who started it, and it certainly isn't respectful. As the thread progressed, it really has next to nothing to do with Broadway, and for someone to suggest deleting this thread as a sign of respect or sense while posting in the NPH thread just strikes me as odd.

Now. Here. This. is selling tickets to the general public. If they didn't want people to discuss it at all, they ought to have made it a closed workshop. I, for one, would like to hear what others have to say.

This is a Broadway message board. For those of us who weren't granted tickets, it's awesome to hear people talk about the show. I'd love to see it, but alas I can't really afford it.

Back on topic. I'm really confused as to what this show is. I'm not sure I understand the genre of theatri-concert. Is anyone else really confused?

I believe they are calling it a theatri-concert because it doesn't follow a storyline. It's mostly vingette's that have a common theme of being present for your life. There is no fourth wall. All of the songs and scene are spoken and sung to the audience. In fact, in Heidi's final number she sings the final verse directly to one audience member.

I saw this last Saturday. I am a big fan of [title of show] too. As for this show: I found it pleasant, but not much more than that really. At best, the reviews will be mixed, I suspect.

Is this an older thread? They either cut or added the "reach in the mystery box" bit. It wasn't in when I saw it a few weeks ago.
