The MCH thing isn't really an ad lib, nor are a number of other things people have commented on. These are changes made for JCM's run in the show. I generally think of an ad lib as something impromptu, not a script change for a certain actor.
Saw the 7pm show thanks to TKTS ($98 for 40% off last row orch). I saw NPH, AR, and MCH, so I thought I saw the show but I truly SAW the show tonight. Amazing. A night I will never forget. JCM is Hedwig, and I cannot wait to go back to see him.
I absolutely agree. I thought the other Hedwigs were great and then you see JCM do it, and it's like seeing a whole other story! I went back again on Friday (and I am rarely-to-never a Broadway repeat customer.)
I had the delight of seeing JCM as Hedwig last night. Though I was not old enough to ever see him as the original Hedwig, I've seen all the Broadway Hedwigs. Last night was amazing. It's like telling someone, "Oh. Yep. Now I get it."
ETA: was finally able to get tickets to the Feb. 28th 10pm performance. Between time and money issues, I was finally able to work it out and I am so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw the show on Saturday night and can't stop thinking about it. Like everyone else has said already, John Cameron Mitchell was absolutely incredible. I already want to go back.
A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.
As a Hedwig newbie, I thought NPH was awesome. But tonight I realized he was just a great tribute band. Tonight I saw the Beatles. It was beautiful.
JCM laid across my lap and mock fellated the guy next to me, and spat a program into my lap. I have his glitter lip print on a program!! Totally framing it.
Man, maybe that explains what was up with Lena last night! I thought she was on drugs! Her performance was bizarre! You could barely understand her accent.
If Lena is indeed leaving when JCM does, who do we think could replace her? I remember hearing Lindsay Mendez was in final callbacks before Lena was cast...hmmm. Any thoughts?
