Jumped on this - been wanting to see JCM in the show, just never pulled the trigger. There is a selfish part of me that hopes he doesn't extend again so that I get to see his last performance on the 26th!
I still think the "last" performance, March 14th at 10 will still be rocking since everyone who truly loves JCM/Hedwig had already bought their tickets.
I was on hold with Telecharge for 15 minutes but they did exchange my last row orchestra ticket for a third row seat on his (new) last performance. Thrilled.
I'm going broke on Hedwig too! I commiserate with everyone. I did win the lottery once, and I was thrilled that I got to see John's first Broadway performance as Hedwig for a reasonable outlay. But all the other times (four) I paid full price! Ouch!
So any chance that the extension will allow for Alan Cumming to take over after Cabaret ends? It works for the rehearsal schedule! Ok maybe this is just a dream of mine but it could work! Look how amazing he could be!
Alan Cumming seems a pretty logical choice. It appears from the previous casting choices that the creative team is upholding the integrity of the show by bringing in legit performers rather than stunt casting, even though most have been enough of a marquee name to drum up interest from the public.
Really glad to hear this. I should be able to see it during a late April visit now. Woohoo! Question for the regulars: is there any advantage to seeing either the early or late show on the weekend? Lighter crowds, more performer energy, or anything else? Need to book my tickets right away.
