Aaaand as usual, these nominations (and some glaring omissions) mostly amount to a giant "...what?" This list isn't as bizarre as it has been in recent years, though.

Absolutely thrilled for Tracee Chimo and her marvelous performance in BAD JEWS.
No Best Actress nom for the Matilda girls?
No score for Matilda either
No Best Actress nom for the Matilda girls?

The Billys weren't nominated for this in 2009 either. The OCC doesn't usually recognize group performances.

Bravo CHAPLIN!!!!
The biggest MATILDA snub, by FAR (for me) is not nominating Warchus for director!

WHAT?!? His staging was some of the most ingenious work I've seen onstage in the last few years, not even just in this season!

Bravo, Pippin! It deserves the nods. Truly the most magical night I've had in the theater this season.
Glad to see many Dogfight noms!
		     			Notable omissions:

OUTSTANDING NEW BROADWAY PLAY
The Assembled Parties

OUTSTANDING NEW OFF-BROADWAY PLAY
The Flick

OUTSTANDING NEW SCORE
Matilda
A Christmas Story

OUTSTANDING DIRECTOR OF A MUSICAL
Matthew Warchus, Matilda

OUTSTANDING FEATURED ACTOR IN A MUSICAL
I mean... REALLY?!

OUTSTANDING FEATURED ACTRESS IN A MUSICAL
Rachel Bay Jones, Pippin (they nominated Charlotte instead... really?)

OUTSTANDING SOLO PERFORMANCE
Alan Cumming, Macbeth

It's a shame that "The Other Place" was considered and nominated last season when it was produced Off Broadway.

Laurie Metcalf was incredible.

bjh2114, Macbeth isn't a solo performance, there are 2 other actors in the play.
The Other Place was eligible last season when it was off-Broadway.
bjh2114, Macbeth isn't a solo performance, there are 2 other actors in the play.

OK, then he was still left out of the Leading Actor category... where he would be for the Tonys. That's even MORE telling.

The biggest MATILDA snub, by FAR (for me) is not nominating Warchus for director!

Agreed. I don't understand how you nominate Jerry Mitchell for direction of Kinky Boots (choreography I understand) over Warchus.

Ahahahahahahaha. Oh, OCC. You are delightfully daft. Yes, let us recognize the acting, direction, and score of the virtually unwatchable Chaplin while choosing to lay the smack down on Matilda and nominate it for as few awards as possible.

Leaving Matilda out of Score and Direction are the most ridiculous omissions. But while we're at it: Charlotte D'Amboise for Pippin? Alex Timbers for Here Lies Love? The book of Chaplin? The COSTUMES in Chaplin?! No Disgraced for Off-Broadway Play but Really Really gets in? Valisia LeKae's wooden acting in Motown?

These are truly embarrassing nominations. As per usual.

I'm surprised Judith Ivey got a nod while Carrie Coon did not for her incredible performance in Virginia Woolf.
I completely agree that Alan Cumming was snubbed. The whole show was snubbed! He should get some recognition for that performance.

Remember that time Young Frank swept the OCC's?
Most thrilled about the HARDBODY love! Also happy about all the PIPPIN and DOGFIGHT noms. I think DOGFIGHT should have made the transfer to Broadway...or at least another Off-Broadway theatre.

It seems kind of silly that Cumming wasn't nominated for solo performance since those other two people barely do anything.

Agreed that Rachel Bay Jones was about one million times better than Charlotte. Since she had to play, ya know, emotions.

Cinderella is nominated for that insufferable book? What?! That alone disqualifies this whole list for me. I guess I am happy Pippin is leading though!
No nom for Judy Kuhn? Really?!

These are just bizarre as usual.

I am very surprised that "Bring It On" wasn't nominated for anymore, especially best choreography.
