PRISCILLA Lottery/Rush?
#1PRISCILLA Lottery/Rush?
Posted: 3/4/11 at 10:31pmI was told by a random person in line for the ARCADIA rush that there's a lottery for PRISCILLA - QUEEN OF THE DESERT, but I can't find info about it (or any sort of rush policy) anywhere. Should I assume this person is an idiot/liar, or is there some sort of unreported/under-the-radar lottery somehow happening? Would appreciate any advice/info. Thanks!

Posted: 3/5/11 at 1:07amI went tonight. They start collecting 2.5 hours before the show, drawing half an hour later. Tickets are front row 40$ partial view. The lotto crowd was not big at all but I suspect it will grow as news about the lottery gets around. I won tonight and i really loved it. You barely miss anything, I had a wonderful time.

Posted: 3/5/11 at 11:52amThe stage is very high. But you don't miss very much. Only a few things that slide across the floor. But for the most part when they're on the bus you can see everything. Id gladly sit there again!

Posted: 3/5/11 at 1:22pmThere is audience participation at the top of Act 2 but no one in the front row was used. Random people, usually on the isles, were picked by cast members.

I'm willing to bet that our Palace's stage would tower over your's.

Posted: 3/5/11 at 2:36pmI saw it last night. Had an orchestra seat and the first thing I sad when I sat down was "wow, that stage is really high". And the conductors sheet music is very visible. It wasn't really annoying but it is lit and I found myself looking at it from time to time.

"$40 for Partial View? Absurd."
While I would agree that that is absurd, Wicked's 2nd tour in Vancouver is charging $113 for limited view seating (with top prices of $159) THAT'S criminal.

TheatreFan4, I have a feeling Lavieboheme3090 was referring to the front row not being involved in the audience participation in London.
But, as a side note, the Palace stage in London is also quite high. It's certainly one of the highest (if not the single highest) in London. I saw Priscilla from the 3rd row twice last year. I also saw West Side Story and Legally Blonde from the front row here. The heights are pretty comparable.

I plan to play the lotto on the evening of the 27th, I hope my odds will be good.

The stage is higher now than it was for WSS and Legally Blonde.
