Probably taken out for this "family" show. They did it on Letterman and IDK about Dancing with the Stars... I forgot.

The lipsynching for RAGTIME was horrendous. But when the entire cast joined in, it looked/sounded great.
I had no idea Natalie Cortez is an Anita understudy! She was so wonderful in ACL. Her performance today was very strong.
SHREK was cute and fun but made no sense.
HAIR was great.
BILLY was kind of a mess.
DREAMGIRLS sounded fantastic even if they were performing in the street. Ha.

Does anyone have a link to America?

KirbyCat thanks for answering what I was wondering...I'll post your response over on the OT board....though come to think of it my query probably belonged here more.

That performance from "Billy Elliot" did not make me want to see the show.

I have trouble telling if things are lip-synched or not, so I had no problem with the singing. Except, I could tell that John Stamos was not singing live because of the accuracy of his notes compared to videos I've seen. I liked all the performances, but Dreamgirls seemed out of place being performed on the street and I was upset not to see Karen Olivo perform "America". I thought Ragtime was great and I really want to see the show (not that I didn't before). I thought Shrek had the most energy of the NBC performances, but they were last, so they were probably more awake.

If it matters, here's a higher quality video of Billy Elliot. Now you can see how bad the lip-synching REALLY is!!

since he hasn't gotten any love yet and he's one of my favorite performers:
YAY ALAN CUMMING!!!
YAY ALAN CUMMING!!!
You're reminding me of people you hear at the movies asking questions every ten seconds, "Who is that? Why is that guy walking down the street? Who's that lady coming up to him? Uh-oh, why did that car go by? Why is it so dark in this theater?" - FindingNamo on strummergirl
"If artists were machines, then I'm just a different kind of machine...I'd probably be a toaster. Actually, I'd be a toaster oven because they're more versatile. And I like making grilled cheese" -Regina Spektor
"That's, like, twelve shows! ...Or seven." -Crazy SA Fangirl
"They say that just being relaxed is the most important thing [in acting]. I take that to another level, I think kinda like yawning and...like being partially asleep onstage is also good, but whatever." - Sherie Rene Scott

Thank you for posting the performances, KirbyCat; I missed "Billy" and hoped that someone would have the clip up soon.
That said, I enjoyed the performance plenty well enough, but I never seem to understand the production's song choices for events like this. "Solidarity" (albeit, perhaps, a shortened version) would seem like the obvious choice for a cast number, and if it's Billy they're looking to feature, then the song should be "Electricity," right? Are they afraid that doing "Electricity" with only one of the boys will imply some sort of unfair prejudice or preference towards that boy?
Oh, well.
(And, on an unrelated note– wow! Trent Kowalik, meet growth spurt!)

Love Alan Cumming. Only he could make singing with a bunch of M&M's look great. He's so fantastic. Cracked me up.

I enjoyed "Shrek." It made me excited for the tour.

If Trent grows anymore, will he be forced out of the show?? I hope not, I just don't think it would look right if Billy Elliot is 6 feet tall.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

The Shrek performance was awful. Why not sing a song that's actually in the show?

Because they wanted to do a fun number? They aren't trying to sell tickets. They know they are closing. Why not get people pumped with a high energy number, whether or not it's in the actual show or the curtain call? At least the performers had energy. Every other performance today was dead.

Ragtime was wonderful. I'm suprised it hasn't been posted yet as all the other shows have links.

Actually, they have performed Electricity a lot on TV. They have this special version where all three boys perform.
