As an 80s kid, seeing him live on Broadway was one of the great thrills of my life. This one hits hard.
Rest in Peace and thanks for being such a huge part of my childhood.

Sorry to hear this.
His message makes me believe he was surrounded by love during his struggle.
I will miss him.
I worked with him on a number of projects beginning 20 years ago. Every year, without fail, he would send custom holiday cards that he designed. For your birthday...and this shows a bit of his sense of humor...he would send every possible image of a birthday cake, with your name on it, that he could find online. The birthday texts would start coming in very early in the morning and often continue well into the night!
I will say that he was the most difficult celebrity I've ever worked with...but in the end, it was all worth it. He will be missed. PEE-WEE'S PLAYHOUSE is an absolute masterpiece.

He came and performed at my Junior High School in the late 80s. I was lucky enough to get to go up the stage and dance with him. Being on the student council had its perks.

Rest in Peace. Thank you for all the smiles you gave to so many..

What a nice tribute Jordan. In what did you see him on Broadway? Was this a live version of the Pee-Wee Herman show?

The Pee-Wee Herman Show played the Sondheim Theatre in 2010.

Cool. Thanks. That must have been a blast to experience live.
