Sunday evening wasn't as good because the cast was nervous about a stalker in the audience.

Sunday evening was fine. Parts were better, but overall the matinee was the best I've seen.

I think they were being snarky about me referring to the number of times I've seen it ~ though seriously there are people who have topped my number for all three runs JUST on Broadway.

It is not about the number of times she has seen it, but its the over the top self indulgent way she behaves herself around the show. Many (including cast members) have complained about the "loud sobbing", and most fans are embarrassed to sit around her during a performance. It is very distracting and "look at me" self important. The stage door stalking a whole other matter. Lets just say there are candles/shrines involved.

The candles were actually more of a joke in terms of "lighting candles to get it to Broadway". But whatever. Those who know, know.

Lol this is hilarious. Do you guys actually know who JORDANGIRL is in RL then? (Know though her infamous N2N behaviour, that is)
God it must have been loud sobbing if the cast had to complain.

Give me claws and a hunch, just away from this bunch.

I just find it ironic that she complains about others annoying her during the show, when she is one of the most distracting, annoying audience members I have ever come across.

Seriously. I don't know jordangirl but I know plenty of people that cry during shows. It's like coughing - sometimes you just can't help it. It might be annoying to other audience members but guess what, that's life.
I remember seeing Caroline or Change with a friend that was desperately trying to stifle a coughing fit during a really serious, slow number... she was mortified. But what was she supposed to do? Only a total d-bag could get mad at someone for something like that - we've all been there.

I cry all the time during shows. Certainly during N2N. HOWEVER, we are talking about a very different, very specific situation.
We are talking about over the top fans that have seen the show almost 40 times, and cry/SOB loudly, front and center. It is part of the "experience" - they feel they can go and have a huge cry. It is really a cry for attention - you have to see this to believe it. We are talking LOUD sobbing from beginning to end. Loudly. So everyone can hear. It is a distraction - you honestly have trouble hearing quiet moments of the show. I have sat close to this person during a performance of N2N - and it is so ridiculous and distracting we were all embarrassed. It is really hard to get into the show when an audience member is being so loud. We are pretty sure she does it so Alice Ripley will notice and pay attention to her.

The only time I was ever bothered by audience crying was closing night of Spring Awakening. It was so bad it was funny. It actually KEPT me from being emotional....at all.
But there wasn't ONE person alone that was distracting -- it was defintiely a en masse situation. I hope I never encounter what has been discribed here!
And while I know I sob like a baby...I am also aware that it is of the silent kind...just tears dropping. I was embarrassed however, when I went to see Equus. I had front row tix and found myself very moved at the end of the piece and truly crying (but silently). THis was during BC/EFA collections so the much of the cast was in the house/lobby collecting. I chatted with one of the actors about how much I loved the show and that I was very moved by it. His response: Yes, we know, we saw how much it affected you. I don't 'think' it was said with any sort of ridicule, and I certainly hope not....but it did embarrass me!

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

yeah, I mean I don't even think you have to be silent when you cry at a show. This is just an entirely different level of LOOK AT ME.
There are so many other antics involved with this person. Lets just say you should have been at the box office the performance after the Tonys when they announced Alice was out sick. This woman had a complete mental breakdown - screaming and crying at the BO window. It was so intense that the house manager had to be called from her office to come down and calm her down.

so not responding to any of the annoying behavior stuff, cause it wasn't there last night.....
This was my third time seeing the show, once at 2st, once at Arena, and now here. I was completely blown away by how much everything has changed since Arena. I know the material hasn't changed, but the actors are so much more a part of their roles, it's outstanding! The biggest change I saw was in Jennifer, before she had seemed very meticulous in her movements, sort of a "I was told to stand here and move my arm, so I will stand here and move my arm" kind of way. Last night, I saw her taking more control of her body, movements, and presence, which was wonderful to see.
When I saw it at Arena, I had really missed Brian d'Arcy James as Dan, but this time I had completely forgotten all about him because I was so enamored with Bobby Spencer. Just incredible.
For me, Kyle Dean Massey brought out a whole new side of Gabe for me. I didn't see as much incestuous tension with him and Alice Ripley as there was when Aaron Tveit was in the role. To me his motives were purely his intentions in "There's a World" (as not not add spoilers), rather than crave his mom's love. His voice also seemed younger than Tveit's which added to the whole ***SPOILER**** (couldn't do it) him dying so young ***END SPOILER*****
And Alice is amazing. That's it.
SPOILER QUESTION
If I recall correctly, in previous incarnations they said Gabe died at 18 months, but last night they said 8. Am I just not remembering correctly, or did they change that from VA to Bway?
END SPOILER

If you found it distracting- that is fine. However, it is not nice to post about someone when they can see it. That is just rude.

CSonBroadway - you seem like a very nice person. I totally understand where you are coming from. However, this is a complicated situation with many details you don't know about, but others here do. The point is not to be "rude". The point is to create self-awareness and perspective.

I get that, but maybe a PM would have been more appropriate? It's like you're purposefully trying to embarrass her or something. As much as you're convinced that she's doing this for attention, the bottom line is you really have no idea. Why not give her the benefit of the doubt? It's not like that precludes you from creating 'self-awareness and perspective' as well.
