Very excited about this show.
Thanks for the link Matt_G!
Young Frankenstein is going to be really interesting on Broadway. So is The Wall. I'm really excited for both of them, but I kind of want more original shows.
I'm excited too. I know that Roger was thoroughly disappointed with the film simply because it didn't really communicate many of his ideas. He's quite an creative man - I'd love to see what kind of show he could bring to a theater. Check out the Floyd book Karl Dallas wrote. Roger discusses some of the many ideas that he wanted to incorporate into the Wall tour - they just weren't feasible. His concepts sound like they belong in a theatrical setting.
I had to turn the ALBUM off it was so creepy. I won't even dare to watch the movie.
If the album scares you, then you are a pus*y and should not watch the movie. Though Sometimes I can't even watch the movie at night before bed because it's scary for the wrong reasons. Like the movie TOMMY is scary because is weird and disturbing instead of because it's meant to be frightening. Updated On: 8/7/04 at 05:12 AM
Looks like Lee Hall and Adrian Noble will be joining Water's in writing The Wall.

You know how I feel about jukebox musicals, but Adam Pascal has expressed an interest in this. I'd be there every day.

Don't know if any of you saw The Wall in full in concert, but I saw it in Berlin & it was an amazingly theatrical experience. The wall is gradually built up during the show, with scenes going on through "windows" or breaks in the wall. At the end, the wall is complete & everything's gone silent....then a whisper "tear down the wall", which is repeated, louder & louder til the wall explodes outward into the audience.
Yeah, I can see this on Broadway.
YAAY! love Pink Floyd!
I've herd that Water might have to kiss and make up with Gilmour. Some songs in the Wall are owned by Water and Gilmour. Most notably, Comfortably Numb. We all know the history Water and Gilmour had and continue to have.
I've always thought that The Wall always had a Broadway feel. The customes are going to be quite interesting. Wonder how they're going to melt the grand piano.

Relics is a compilation.
Emcee--this isn't a jukebox musical because they are taking a concept/story/songs that are already established on the cd THE WALL. It is the same with JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR. It was an album first than made into a show (that is because they had to do this first). It is the same as say a concept album that a broadway writer puts out first before any plans are in motion to put it on stage. Does that make sense at all because I am just rambling?

this is going to be spectucular.
this is the show that the jukebox genre has been waiting for, it will give all of the failures some meaning and give any further attempts something to live up to. The album is suited perfectly to a stage show, much more so than to a film (though I enjoyed it), and Waters' Berlin concert alone would have been one of the best things on Broadway. Realized as an actual show with a variety of singers (and, if what you're saying is true, new songs), it could realy be terrific.
But if they screw it up, I'll kill them.
Roger Waters is not a good singer by any technical standards, but he had a very large range. Between 'Mother' and 'Hey You' on The Wall he sings about 2 and a half octaves. Can't wait to hear the show.
That's the truth. I saw him during his recent tour. The guy is a great showman, but his voice fit perfectly for the songs he write. Thank God Floyd had Gilmour to handle the vocals.
Herd that he want to insert Money into the play. How great would it be if the four guys decided to make up and play a quick set after the performance?
"But if they screw it up, I'll kill them."
My sentiments exactly. Oddly enough, The Wall, due to reasons beyond my control, was the one of the two Floyd tours I missed. (I also missed '94...I was out of commission with a broken leg and had seven pins sticking out of my tibia...didn't seem prudent to go to a Floyd concert in Giant's Stadium, if you know what I mean...) But I saw everything else. Even Atom Heart Mother. Love Floyd.
I'm a little worried about this if there is no input from Gilmour...to me, he *is* the dominent force as far as the "sound" of Floyd.
Never-the-less, I am there. Probably for multiple visits, I'll admit with a fair amount of embarassment.
I was listening to Hey You recently. I'm excited about hearing the orchestration version of this song.
This show is going to rock. If anyone needs some extra doses of pot before the show starts just meet me outside.
I would love to see it on Broadway. One of my favorites since I was 10.

Is that a promise? Anybody else want to tailgate before the show?
