Any thoughts?
Forgive me for not understanding. Is it a concert?
wouldn't not get my attendance -- even if was in the GOld Club for Theatermania...but then of course I have never dropped acid...hmmm... :)
No, it's not a concert. It's a musical based on Pink Floyd's The Wall.
ive seen parts of the movie, its pretty out there, i cant see it on broadway
It could be quite different on stage. Remember the film version of Tommy?
I'm so tired of these rock revue type shows, but I guess we'll see how it turns out.

They would need to pump pot smoke into the ventilation of the theater to get the full effect.
Eric, you are correct!
I am VERY VERY VERY excited about this! My life is complete! This is one of my favorite albums ever and the movie is to die for. Yes it is like the movie TOMMY. It's the ultimate druged-up, disgusting, disturbing, freaky, weird movies ever. This show will bring a complete new audience of people to Broadway. People like me who come from rock'n'roll but got into Broadway because of show like THE WHO'S TOMMY and JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR. And if Harvey Weinstein has his name on it, it's got a be a great show. This show DOES have the potential to be very stunning visually and a huge specatcle like the movie.
Wow, that movie was intense. It's definitely a "What the f*ck?" experience, but I enjoyed it a lot. I hope the Broadway show can capture this effect.
This show will rock ass!!!!! Thank you Harvey and Miramax!!
I just saw the movie - visually it's stunning, and very disturbing. But there's no real narrative - how will this play onstage?
Matt_G- do you have a link??
I've always loved the Wall, so I'm excited for this. I think it definitely has potential to be amazing on stage. How they're going to do it, I have no clue, but I'm just going to hope it'll be great!
I'm still not getting it...

I hope not.
Dark Side Of The Moon is a much better work. Also, Relics.
Pink Floyd is best very late at night, with no distractions, from begining to end.
Sorry 'bout that, Diva. I thought I did post a link. Just for you, sweetie -

Ok, this movie is much better when you're high. So think about that when you rent it. I'm getting ready to watch it now. hahahahah

FOOLS!! It's these same assumptions that killed Tanz der Vampire! You may have destroyed Steinman, but you are NOT taking Roger Waters! I'll have you know, as a major fan of the Floyd, this MUSICAL is being made to SPITE the movie... and it will contain a truckload of humour, completely opposite it. Roger disliked the movie, because there was no humour, and he's wanted to do this for years as a MUSICAL. It will be awesome. There will be new songs and everything. I first heard news about this several years ago, but they're finally gonna attempt it. In other news, Waters is also working on the opera CA IRA. Hope that comes to Broadway 2
I have always loved Floyd. (I've seen them seven or eight times in concert..starting back in the days of Ummagumma). I'm a little worried about what this could turn into...I wish Roger and the rest of the guys still acknoweldged each others' existance and could work together... but still, if the rock to Broadway trend is to continue, then it might just as well be with The Wall.

Oh man, I am such a huge Pink Floyd, The Who, The Clash, etc. etc. fan- I can't WAIT to see how this turns out!

I wasn't aware there were many of them on Broadway. Which shows are you referring to?
THE WALL is not a rock review. It's an actual composition movie musical that's being brought to the stage. That's all. No different from THE WHO'S TOMMY. It's not like it's PINK FLOYD greatest hits made into a story like MAMMA MIA! or MOVIN' OUT.

- Funny. Same feeling I get when I watch the movie sober. lol
My dad told me he heard this on the radio. He said also that "Young Frankenstein" is also coming to B'Way.
Interesting. I heard talks of that a long time ago, but thought that had fizzled out.
this was the last article playbill.com had about it... from feb 26 '04...
