Pippin Revival Cast Recording First Listen EW

I just ordered from Ghostlight and asked if I will have the cd in time for an event and they informed me the CD will ship the end of June. It is actually cheaper and with free S&H to order from them.

I am listening to Morning Glow and there are tears of joy streaming down my face! Only by listening to the CD. Truly Incredible!

uh-oh. I'm bracing myself for what's to come with that question.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

This is a first-rate recording.

I really love it. I agree this is Grammy-worthy.

EDIT: I also have to say Stephen Schwartz is a treasure. Thank you for the music.

Excuse me, but is that not a legit question? In the original they had Ben Vereen Did they change that character to a woman? If so, why? Frankly, to be honest, I prefer Ben.

So you just listened to the recording with ZERO knowledge of the revival? Patina Miller plays the Leading Player. So yes, it is now a woman.

Oh my God Andrea Martin's No Time at All sounds awful compared to the fantastic Irene Ryan. This revival sounds like an absolute disaster to these ears. lol.

Wait. That's Andrea Martin? I thought the role was supposed to be played by a man? What? Isn't that a legitimate question? The potatoes in my ears are furious!

You CAN'T tell me that Andrea Martin's version is good. It stinks. She can't hold a candle to the wonderful Irene "Granny" Ryan.

And whoever that girl is who sings Magic To Do outta get the ole Vaudeville hook!

Except for the fact that she stops the show every performance and is going to win the Tony for featured actress. She SUCKS!!! (JOKING!!!). I love me some Andrea Martin!

You can seriously be saying that Andrea Martin is better than Irene Ryan! It certainly doesn't translate to the recording, that's for sure.

I think Andrea Martin should stick to doing her Linda Lavin impression on SCTV.
