Sasha Allen as LP, Kyle Dean Massey as Pippin, Sabrina Harper as Fastrada, John Rubinstein as Charles, Kristine Reese as Catherine, Lucie Arnaz as Berthe.
"It's Lucie".

I'm quite sad because I know it will be the last time I see this incarnation of the show.
Once again I had a great time. The audience was not nearly as responsive as the Pantages audience, but that was to be expected.
KDM seemed more comfortable in the role, and therefore I better. I think. It might have been me, or my mood, or where I was sitting but I enjoyed him much more this time.
Lucie Arnaz was very good. Though she made me appreciate Andrea Martin's impeccable timing and delivery even more.
The fun part for me was I brought an actor friend. Kind of a serious guy, not the type who really goes to musicals. He enjoyed the first act but was blown away by the second act. He couldn't stop talking about it (and what it meant) on the ride home. Act 3 truly took place in the car on the way back to LA for us.
May I ask.. How long did it take you to drive there? I'll be coming from San fernando valley, and I'm freaking out over how bad traffic might be. I'll be going on Saturday, leaving at 3pm, even though show isn't until 7:30. Lol!
I'm glad you had such a good time. :) I hear ya .. I'm going to be very sad too when it's over. I do plan on possibly seeing it in San Diego, but that is a long way off and maybe not the same cast.
Was Sasha the Leading Player? How was she this time?
We left at 3:30 and arrived at 5:30. Pretty crazy traffic! Not sure what it will be like on Saturday. Going back to LA took a little less than an hour.
Sasha has vocal chops for days and sings her ass off. I've seen her three times and she is remarkably consistent.
I can't believe I forgot to mention John Rubinsten! As far as I'm concerned he was the MVP last night. Very funny, and he has a command of the stage that I hadn't noticed before. They're lucky to have him.
lisaleela: It might just take an hour but probably no more than two on a Saturday. The theatre is right off the 405. Leave early anyway! South Coast Plaza is nearby and worth spending extra time there and then walking over to the theatre.
Traffic is so unpredictable when going there. Leave really early and just plan for a leisure lunch and some shopping across the street at SCP. We always used to park at Sears as well.
So if I leave at 3pm, on Saturday, I should be okay to get there in time for a bite to eat and the 7:30 show. I'm probably going to try the 5/605 to the 405, rather than the 405 all the way.
This is starting to sound a bit "The Californians". (SNL reference).
Thanks everyone! :) Driving freaks me out. I must REALLY love this show, to do this. Lol!
To non-Angelenos on this board... I know allowing 4-5 hours is a bit nuts but seriously the traffic here is ridiculous! Don't move here! ;p
Arrived back home a couple of hours ago from my 3rd and last Pippin show, at least until possibly San Diego. Boo I'm sad. (
Sasha had more energy. Maybe she's feeling better. She had a number of sick days earlier in Los Angeles, which accounts for several Lisa Karlin stand-in LP appearances. I don't think Lisa has had a chance at all, since L.A. So I guess Sasha Is feeling a lot better, and it shows. Her dancing was way better tonight. Her singing, as always, phenomenol. But she still just doesn't have that spark or menacing quality that Patina had and Lisa as well (IMO). I suppose your mileage may vary. I look forward to reading future reviews from others who get to see this tour.
I never wrote about Kristine, so I will here. She is so cute, a wonderful actress, and amazing singer! I love her as Catherine! :)
I also fell in love with Cooper. What a handsome fellow! After the show, at the stage door, Cooper came out, and I got to say hi to him and pet him. I don't normally make it a habit to pet the performers. But I couldn't help myself. And Cooper didn't mind, because he's a dog.
Was great seeing Lucie Arnaz! But she didn't bring the house to their feet like Andrea Martin did. And she wasn't as graceful either. She seemed kinda nervous during parts of her act. But kudos to her anyway, for all she did! :) Certainly is NOT easy to learn. I enjoyed her as Berthe. Oh... and not very many people in the audience sang along! O.C is dead. ;p
I had a great time, and now I need to come off my Pippin high until next summer. They definitely inspire me to work out! :)
Lisa- When I went to see it in OC it seemed like I was the only one singing along for No Time at All. The elderly OC Republicans seemed annoyed with me!!
I agree that Lucie seemed nervous during her tricks. But I was glad I got to see her. And also, she made me love Andrea all the more. Andrea was expert at wringing the part for all it was worth and made it look so very effortless.
I loved it all three times I saw it, but the most special night was the first preview at the Pantages. I have never been in another audience that was as enthusiastic or appreciative.
