I think they should promote the current Broadway Lewis, Mike Schwitter, to Pippin on tour... It wold be a great choice for so many reasons!

I think she was saying promote him to the role of Pippin, not as a replacement for the current tour Lewis.
I too would love Erik Altemus to take over as Pippin on tour. I doubt it, but I want it.

Mke Schwitter or Sam Lips from the closing broadway cast would do very well in the tour, as would Erik Altemus. I don't know when we'll hear who replaces Kyle. Sometimes tour announces just before the person starts.
Can anyone think of any man-genues who could jump in? Pippin pulls in that type, not to discredit the actor or role. Any out of work Fiyeros or Mormon Elders? Newsies who need a gig?

I think F is so incredibly talented, and he would be great. I hate to bring it up, but is physical physique a part of this incarnation of Pippin, with shirtless scenes, and all if it is I'm not sure if F is what Diane imagined for this production of Pippin.
Nic Rouleau would be really good, but he's doing another run in BoM

How does Josh Kaufman look in the shirtless scenes? At least F would be a bit more age appropriate.

I haven't seen Josh as Pippin. Maybe it's not a factor, it just seemed like it was when I saw the show with Matthew and Kyle

What I would not pay to see Nic Rouleau shirtless....

I'm kind of surprised Nic Rouleau hasn't played Pippin at all.

oncemore....that's the first time I've seen that word "man-genue". : )
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

Right? He seems like such an obvious choice. He was working on other roles I guess.

Fun fact, Nic Rouleau is my orthodontist's son.

Still no casting announced for the new Pippin and Bertha?

No, and they didn't hold auditions for the roles, for whatever that's worth.

I wonder if they are going to pluck from pre-existing tour and Broadway company members?

Maybe Sam Lips or Mike Schwitter, on twitter Erik said he is not part of the tour.

I saw the show again in DC today and Lisa Karlin was in as Leading Player. She was absolutely delicious. I had reservations about an u/s going on, but she really was so much better than Sasha, who I saw last Sunday as LP.

This seems to be a recurring theme with the tour, where people are happy to catch the understudy instead! Sasha is a lovely sweet person but she just doesnt have that energy or qualities needed to portray this particular role. And she is sick quite a bit as well. There was one leg of the tour (I think the city right before D.C) where Lisa was LP almost every performance. I'm starting to think what will end up happening is Sasha will leave and Lisa will be the new LP full time, and there will be a new understudy.
Btw.. They uploaded this video today, in tribute to Pippin Broadway. I think everyone in the touring cast is there, except Sasha.
