Wait until you learn that you share the world with them too... it's far easier to just block people you don't like on a social media platform...
On the contrary, it's far easier not to use any social media platform one doesn't wish to for any reason at all. Millions of people don't use the former Twitter, for reasons that have nothing to do with not wanting to support or provide engagement (and thereby enrich) Elon Musk (though that's certainly a valid one). It's the easiest thing in the world.

I completely disagree. Try life with limited usage of social media platforms. Got rid of Twitter ages ago and Threads this week. It’s far easier to live your life without constant scrolling.
After Zuck's announcement last week I decided I would delete my Facebook account. It's the only platform I have used. Announced it a few days ago to my friends on there and gave it two days for responses. Deleted my account last night. I went to Bluesky (Opened an account the other day). Some of my friends were already there but still have their other META accounts. I just couldn't stay on Facebook. I found the pages/sites I follow on Facebook over on Bluesky and am following them.
Interesting though, the flight from Facebook doesn't seem to be as big as from "X". I am guessing because of the demographic on Facebook. My older family and friends are staying put. They don't want to switch from something they are used to. Some had no clue about the announcement Zuck made last week and he even posted it there. My deletion won't make a dent but I am glad I did it. Just can't support his platforms at this point.
The move from TikTok to Red Note, a Chinese owned app, is also interesting. Users are saying it is giving them a chance to engage with new people and is their protest against U.S. Government. So they don't care about the possible national security concerns.
I can already tell that at this point I won't spend as much time on Bluesky as I did on Facebook. Not as much to wade/scroll through. Of course, if it gets really popular, that could, and probably will, change. JMO
