The fit hits the sham, as Mamet would say.
RIP
P
Nonononono.
I did want to see it a second time. I won't be able to now.
I can only imagine that Leigh Ann Larkin is counting all of her blessings right now.
What a shame.
A great show that has never really found an audience. I saw the original & vividly remember it & how it should have won the best Tony Musical. Lion King was an event but Ragtime was a musical.
Very sad that a lot of talented people will be out of work.

That blows. Hopefully this production will still be remembered around awards time.

Interesting that this comes just days after the "we're not closing" article.

SO not okay. Especially because I had tickets to see it a fourth time on Jan 5th. I hope to catch it this week, regardless...
I'm so disappointed, ugh. I'm buying my tickets for closing tomorrow.
What a shame. I bought a ticket last month when rumors were circulating just in case.
It was definitely worth the 9 times I saw it in DC and 4 times on Broadway.

this is so damn sad. This was one of the most thrilling shows on Bway. Another show to be forgotten in Broadway history.
This is so sad. I loved this show, and I hoped more people would get to see it.
More info from the Times
Mr. McCollum said he had hoped that the musical would gross as much as $675,000 in ticket sales during Christmas week, but ended up grossing only $616,303, in spite of adding a ninth performance to its schedule to accommodate holiday tourists.
He spoke with his investors over the weekend about their options, but no one wanted to consider paring back the size of the orchestra or pouring more money into the show, Mr. McCollum said.
He added that the revival had run long enough to be eligible for the 2010 Tony Awards, and that a majority of Tony voters had already seen the show.

What a shame! I never got to see it.
well... time to start writing mail asking to get all of the Ragtim Playbills I can get.
Well, holy damn it! I'm very disappointed. I'm glad I got a chance to see it, but it's unfortunate that so many people won't get to.
Best of luck to the cast and crew.
I'm wondering if Savannah Wise will come back to ROA as Sherrie.
