Posted: 1/18/08 at 5:54pmI enjoyed the show, and love the music also, but they need to just let it go! And they need to correct the bit of bad grammer and misspelling on that petition. Now that is more of a crime.

I have briefly read through the last page or so, so let me see if I get this straight - It is only ok to discuss positive things about the show, but nothing someone can consider negative? Ummm, welcome to reality - this is a message board, you have both. You want people to respect you, you have to show respect in return. Too many people think that it is just going to be peaches and cream around here, not likely. The best thing about this board is the mixture of opinions. Sometime people say things that piss me off, but they have every right to express their opinion, I can't stop them, just move on.

If these people creating petitions and Facebook groups spent half as much energy supporting the show before now, it wouldn't be closing.
trinaaron, I said nothing about anyone being better or realer or original-er Rentheads. As I said in a previous post, the "new BWW member" comment was not mine; dancegirl brought it up. You're putting words into my mouth with your liberal interpretations when it was merely a sarcastic comment out of frustration at the histrionics of late.
MiniMenzel, regardless of how long you've been a BWW member or a Rent fan, you're still stupid to support that petition.

So they should be spending there time seeing the show over and over instead of creating petitions and facebook groups?

You know, if these people spent their energy trying to save Scrabulous instead, then I'd feel a little less hate towards them...

Posted: 1/19/08 at 8:54amIt seems right now between eBay and StubHub that the running price for one Rear Mezzanine ticket is $2500-$3000 and an Orchestra seat averages at $5000.

MiniMenzel, you joined BWW just to post and promote that petition.
You first post was:
Sign the petition....http://www.petitiononline.com/saveRENT/petition.html
Also, I'm writing to the Nederlander!
They can't do this to us!!!
You can't claim you don't support it when you are spreading it around and telling other people to sign it. That's completely illogical and if you're not stupid, you'd know that.

Some brat in the city will no doubt spend their entire life savings on those tickets.
Oh, and online petitions are about as useful as fighting on a message board. They get you nowhere and you look like a complete fool in the end.

"I never thought I'd say this, but June 1 cannot come soon enough." Erinrebecca, I don't know about that. I mean if you're complaining about idiot rent fans then it will only get worse on the boards around and after the closing date.
"Why not keep your negative opinions to yourself? Most of the people on this thread really don't want to hear that negativity. We're sad about this. Can't you respect that?" Dancegirl, the only thing she was negative about was ignorance. If you read it in the context and wasn't a personal attack on rent fans or anything like that. Trust me I'm devestated about the show closing too but you just have to realize not everyone is going to have the same mentality.
"I said nothing about being affected by the show."
I'm aware but my point is, why would someone have to have been a fan for 2 years to be sad about it? That's all I meant.
wow that facebook group... just read some of the responses, it's ridiculous.
DRSisLove, Wow those aren't even good seats! I mean they're not bad but not even close to being worth that kind of money. I'm only 2 rows behind and I paid $55. Wow, is that even legal? (LB reference unintended)
