Truly a great talent. She will be greatly missed. I'm glad to have had the opportunity to see her onstage in Anything Goes, though sadly it was before I knew her from Arrested Development, and I was more focused on the other performances in that star-studded cast. But I still remember her being perfectly cast in that role.
And in any case, her work on Arrested Development and Archer have brought me, and many of us, a ton of joy.
RIP
This is terribly sad. She was just a tremendous talent on every level. I met her at the stage door for Anything Goes and she was absolutely giddy about how much fun she was having-so kind and joyful. She was salt of the earth. Rest in peace dear Jessica.
Which “Star War” is everyone going to watch tonight in her memory?
Sad news. I think that hearing her delivery of “I don’t care for Gob” in that cutaway in the Pilot (after saying she loved all her children equally) was the moment I fell in love with ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT.
Wow. I wasn’t very familiar with her until recently when my boyfriend started getting me into Arrested Development. She was hilarious and so talented. Rest is peace, sweet lady.

I adored her on Arrested Development and Archer. I would have loved to have seen her in Anything Goes. Really a tremendous and unique talent, RIP.

Maybe because she is so associated in my mind with Lucille Bluth, but I thought of her as immortal on some level, and certainly younger than her years. Shocked and saddened to see this. In addition to being simply perfect in Arrested Development, she was a lovely person, and a regular NY theatergoer as well.
I think Jessica Walter in the Motherboy episode of Arrested Development was one of television's funniest moments.
She was such a fine actress with a lovely intensity, equally adept at drama and comedy. Our loss.

Walter was so funny in Arrested Development that she stole almost every one of her scenes. She was a longtime working actress, on stage, screen and television, who got a fantastic role later in life and made it so much better just with her line readings, turns of phrase, and winks.

I know an actor who was one of the regular guest characters for Arrested Development and when we knew each other well enough, it was Jessica Walter I wanted to hear about. I had always thought she was brilliant and my pal didn’t disappoint by saying Ms Walter was truly delightful and loved by everyone.

While I adored her as Lucille Bluth, and other variations on the cold, dry, sarcastic patrician, don't forget that certain warmth and authority she brought to Fran Sinclair on Dinosaurs (which I've been revisiting on Disney+)
I remember when she was a regular guest star on CBS' 'Trapper John, MD' (1979-85) playing the ex-wife of Pernell Roberts. There was something about these two on camera that was very convincing they were really ex-spouses. Two great actors in many good scenes.
I loved her in everything she did - especially her deliciously bitchy turn in Sidney Lumet's THE GROUP and the Clint Eastwood thriller, PLAY MISTY FOR ME.
She did batsh*t crazy so well!
