So sad and anti-feminist to call people bitches.

"But unfortunately for BWW (and Back Stage) chat boards draw traffic and revenue."
I think the word he was looking for was "fortunately." I'm just going to assume this is all displaced trauma reaction from people who (often understandably) receive complete rejection at a regular pace throughout their lives and they're so used to having to be fake friendly and having the people who stab them in the backs be so "supportive" to their faces that "honesty" is just something a playwright creates for them to perform. If they've been keeping up with their classes.
Case in point, I've never responded to anything about Lea Salonga on this board. She has so many admirers who love and adore her. She does nothing for me and I find her voice remarkably unpleasant. But people like her and there's nothing wrong with that. But now that she's called US bitches, well, I feel free enough to say I never liked Lea Salonga but now I like her even less.
Hey Margo, quick question. Do you remember when you said all this about Kanye West?
"He's such an a$$hole, I honestly can't believe anyone would pay money to listen to him yell at people. Artless, arrogant hack."
"A touch of mental illness? Yeah, sounds about right."
"He is an incessantly annoying, mentally ill, artless hack."
"He's ridiculous and spews sh*t. His fashion line is laughable, and half the models were in dyed American Apparel garments. Enjoy him on TIDAL ONLY (proves hos obnoxious he is), most people are through with his nonsense as you can see with the thousands of articles about his recent behavior. Artless hack."
"He is a loser, a cry baby, and is talent less. His line of clothing was laughed out of fashion week. He is only known now for being a Kardashian fu*ker."

I absolutely do and stand by every word, honey bear! MWA.

Wait....do you still stand by this horrible music and enjoy it?! How is TIDAL? What's the layout like? Totally serious.

So we can assume that you've actually met Kanye?
And I hate to break it to you, but "mentally ill" as an insult is just as bad as "retarded".
Well at least Margo admits s/he's a hypocrite so we don't have to bother taking them seriously.

Patti Murin, Lea Salonga, Will Swenson- these are all actors who are fortunate enough to have made careers in performing. They work regularly. They are often well-reviewed. They have devoted fanbases.
Why does the idea that somewhere on the internet, there is a place where a minority of people can say bitchy things, sometimes about them, bother them so much?

That's weird because the term "mental illness" is very much in the medical dictionary. "Mentally retarded" is not.
Mental Illness
1. a broadly inclusive term, generally denoting one or all of the following: 1) a disease of the brain, with predominant behavioral symptoms, as in paresis or acute alcoholism; 2) a disease of the "mind" or personality, evidenced by abnormal behavior, as in hysteria or schizophrenia; also called mental or emotional disease, disturbance, or disorder,or behavior disorder;

Kad, I know you know the answer to this. Actors are incredibly needy. And sensitive. And those three are clearly on the thin skinned spectrum of that.

So whether or not a phrase is in the dictionary determines whether or not it can be used as an insult?
You really don't actually understand what's being said, do you?

I am concerned for all the young impressionable minds that might follow Patti's twitter feed. She says in ber bio - "Been known to eat less dinner so I can have more dessert."
Make healthier choices, Patti!
I like the way you pick and choose when to be outraged by name calling.
neon, I reported margo to the mods. But calling people despicable is ok I guess.
Personally, I think the whole thing is *********.

I need ANOTHER button, though. One specifically to report her as a person.
"Mentally ill as allllllll get out" I think was your exact phrase. What's his health got to do with your critique of his latest album, though? Why not mention diabetes, or a broken arm?
You were using it as a weapon to dismiss him. Hypocrite.
Reported!

Will Swenson has talked about it being the principle of the thing. At Murder Ballad, years ago, he was talking to a few people about these boards and wanted them completely gone because he thought "hate and negativity do nothing for our performances". So, maybe that is why he cares?

Interesting. What about all the praise and positive posts about the show?
Does he address those?

I mean, he can easily live his life and perform without ever once coming to this board.
Does he prefer people talking negatively about him over drinks at Joe Allen's? Or behind closed doors at a casting office?

It's also ok to call a celebrity a Kardashian fu*ker because he didn't tweet about this message board.

Maybe. I can't say but that night he was very gracious, kind, and signed everyone's Playbill and chatted kindly. I hope he knew that a lot of people enjoy his performances.
