Thank you, sweetie. I wish others would share their real first names. That would be enough.......

that is not what you originally said. you criticized someone for being anonymous but first names are still allowing a sense of anonymity. you cannot have it both ways.

I don't know who Matthew Murray is but it seems we're on the same page.

Girl, stop. She's obviously trolling the boards because I doubt she just happened to look at his Twitter right as we were discussing it.
Well, she does have a lot of time on her hands.
(I made a similar comment last night that was scrubbed, although I don't know what secret rule it violates)

@MMurrayOnBway I wish you would have tagged me in your tweets about the blog I wrote. I would love to talk about it with you sometime?"
Oh, so like she tagged the people here she was talking about?
Oh...wait.... She just talked **** about them behind their backs.

I'm assuming Rob's paying for lunch. Is that the racket with all these sit down chats?

Ah, thanks for the clarification. In any case, it's the other site, but I have an issue with the default format like ClydeBarrow. Flat mode is okay.

I didn't realize that was on option on there. Maybe I should try that board out for a bit.
I'd love to sit down with Patti and discuss this, but I literally have tweeted once, and I'm not sure this outweighs that.

For someone so interested in discussing this, she never actually bothered to reach out to anyone--instead, she expects everyone to come to her.
Even more surprising is that a lot of people did.
Maybe this could be a panel for the 2016 BroadwayCon. It would be like speed dating but with Patti stopping by to tell you not to make fun of people and be so mean.

I just wonder what other modern forum features ATC has. I've been pampered by some fancy tools in the past decade.

She's not interested in discussion. But nothing will change in reality, because that's just not how the internet works. The BWW boards won't be split off. If Rob does for some reason negate all criticism or negativity on this board ("I hated Disaster, everyone was terrible!" ), we can expect a migration. That's just what fan bases do.

Do you think THE Patti Murin has time to sign on to BWW and message the people she called out in her blog? Obviously she only has time to respond immediately to those who tweet at her or comment on her blog. She wouldn't want to do anything privately because then people won't see how brave she is. Honestly the only reason I commented on the blog itself was because she kept bringing up my comment so I simply said that it was a joke that she didn't understand and to get over it. She said she wants to get a drink and discuss it or blah blah blah but I'm really not interested in defending my actions to someone who also already has their mind made up about the situation.
Don't know who Matthew Murray is either, but he hit the nail right on the head.
Maybe I just have low self esteem, but when I did theater stuff in college I never ever expected praise for anything I did. It is nice to hear, but I hate hearing lies that I was good when I really wasn't. And subject material is always subjective. I honestly wonder if some of these performers have any they don't care for or saw something so awful they couldn't praise it.

No, then she'd actually be talking to people instead of behind their backs. It'd have to be her visiting tables and telling you how the people at the next table need to stop being so mean--and then making snarky off-handed remarks about other people who she doesn't know & who aren't there.

I'm looking to put together a helpful, supportive team of folks to monitor Patti Murin's social media output so as to provide immediate feedback on anything she puts out there that is not joyous, supportive, helpful, positive or is in the least bit snarky.
We need to help Patti keep it 100.

Heck, I'd take her up on that just to get free booze. I've always wanted to try a glass of Dom...

She probably expects the person with a job to pay.

I laughed, but that was a bit harsh.

What kind of personality craves validation so much that she's asking to meet strangers to discuss her opinions of appropriate discussion topics? Is the husband coming to, for her safety? Is the person she's meeting expected to pay? What the hell?
I recommend she go back to not reading the boards.
And we start that Why We're Not Seeing Your Show thread.

Except only cherry-picking the things that might support her arguments, especially if taken out of context, which is why she'd never have the guts to bring the discussion onto said forums, because the entire chain of evidence would be visible to everyone.
LightsOut90 said: "because we apparently don't get a voice in the actual thread. I thought I would start an actual thread for people to respond to the implication of a report abuse button."
I'm amused how this thread got started. For starters, what makes you think you're entitled to have a voice in the thread announcing a site change that was posted by the moderators? Starting your own thread to discuss it was the right course of action. However, I noticed that your initial post doesn't do anything to further the conversation other than to say you didn't get to post in another thread. Might I suggest next time you take a potshot at the people who provide an outlet for you to express your opinions - that you actually share an opinion on the topic.
As for "implication" - it's simple. Nothing has changed the way I see it other than there's now a means for people to report a post vs a thread. The implication is, instead of moderators having to police 24/7 - they are provided assistance by the community to weed out those posts which go against forum rules. What it might mean is that some people will be as accountable for what they say as they should have always been - but might not have.
Just tossing it out there:
Patti, you are cordially invited to join as a member here and host a discussion about this issue.
One of two things will happen:
You'll be surprised how civil people are to you and you may learn something about your fans. And we'll learn something too.
Or
It will devolve into a name calling jamboree and Rob will have to delete it.
But I strongly suspect it would be the former.
