I'm gonna watch WISHFUL DRINKING on HBO tonight in her honor. This is truly devastating.

Poor Debbie Reynolds. Outliving your child is just about the worst.
This year sucked hard for the artistic world!

This is one of the hardest deaths for me. Completely devastated. May she Rest In Peace.

This one hit me harder than I expected it to. I wonder how this will alter what's to come with Episode 8.

"I am one with the Force, and the Force is with me." I take solace in the fact that Fisher, who had a mixed reaction to her fame in relation to the sometimes-sexist Star Wars saga, was able to appear once more in the dawning of a new, more diverse era. Having spoken out against the hypersexualization and "slave Leia bikini" mindset more than once, I hope that she saw "General Organa" and Rey as a triumph, and not just as a paycheck.

Four more days until 2016 is over, you guys. Let's stay strong.
Rest in peace, Ms. Fisher. A life cut way too short, a horrible chapter in Debbie Reynolds' life—but a legacy that will live on for generations in memory.

I saw her in Agnes of God on my first trip to New York. I only knew her as Princess Leia at the time and was impressed by the depth of her performance. She was a brilliant writer -- pick up any of her books, they're all razor sharp -- and a great advocate for mental health, in addition to being a fine, underrated actress. This is such a loss, because I'm sure she had much to give to the world still.

She was also an amazing script doctor, working on such films as Sister Act in 1992, Lethal Weapon 3 in 1992 and The Wedding Singer in 1998; others as well... So sad and way too young.

As my Aunt Sally always used to say, "If you think this year was bad, wait till next year."
Farewell, brave lady. Thanks for showing us, for as long as you could, which should have been longer, how to survive.

STAR WARS Episode 8 finished filming months ago so it will be her final film credit.

I'm gutted. My stepmom told me the news and I just stared in disbelief. I really thought she'd be able to pull through. May the force be with you, Carrie.

This is indeed sad news. She was so honest, laugh out loud funny, remarkable and relatable. Her self deprecating humor made her more endearing...and she could fill out a metal bikini better than anyone else on the galaxy.
RIP sweet Princess.

Very sad news. I was so hoping she'd pull through. Her wit and intelligence shined throughout WISHFUL DRINKING.

Ditto. My mom has very advanced heart failure mysteriously out of the blue it seems. Two weeks before her hospitalization, she was dancing in the streets at a Sunday Social after coming out of the neighborhood United Palace Theater where Lin Manuel Miranda donated a new projection system and screened Mary Poppins. And since that day, I feel like I'm surrounded by people dying of heart issues... Florence Henderson, George Michaels, a childhood friend I reconnected with 3 months ago (only 44, and recently went to see Matilda before it closed) And now Carrie. I want to dump 2016 down a deep deep hole.

Yeah, because that will stop bad things from happening.
