A famous title gives any play a running start. But that doesn't say it can't run full speed into a brick wall.
And The Goodbye Girl sprung immediately to mind with tha previous statement.
How Ken Mandelbaum was certain it would be the end all and be all.
I'm less worried about the famous title and more worried about the $15 million price tag ... They're already offering discount codes for BERNADETTE PETERS in HELLO DOLLY ... You think a cast like this can do any better?? LOL
...why are you so fixated on the budget? $15 million isn't exactly out of the norm for a high profile Broadway musical. Kinky Boots cost 13.5 million and things have only gotten more expensive since five years ago.

You certainly seem to have an unhealthy obsession with seeing this show fail, skimble. What's the matter, dear? No callback? Is it payback for Orfeh getting that restraining order against you??

Jerry Mitchell is not enough to save this show.
Let's not forget: He was also the guy who directed and choreographed the flaming dumpster fire known as Peepshow (in Vegas).

They are both Cinderella stories,
which, as I'm sure you know,
are ubiquitous in our culture.
Even MY FAIR LADY is a
variation, without the sex work
angle.
