Best Time Ever has been cancelled. I want him back on Broadway. What are some roles he could/should play?

I could see him as king George in Hamilton.
When Chicago is closing and they need a HUGE Billy Flynn to go out with a bang, NPH is their guy.

I would love to see him as Shakespeare in Something Rotten when Christian Borle leaves I think he could be awesome.
I'd like to see him in an original musical. Someone could easily write a show around his talents.
There is no good place to say things like this, and this certainly isn't one, but I was the guy who said, amidst massive condemnation, that this show was going to be a flop.
I've said it before but how about a revival of The Magic Show?

The Cat in the Hat in Seussical?
Harold Hill in The Music Man?*
Lumiere in Beauty & the Beast?
*Since he's still gonna be coming up with some new projects for NBC, he could be the star Zadan & Meron need to do a Music Man Live.
I doubt the Music Man is happening anytime soon. Zadan and Meron came to their senses and realized how boring of a show it is.
Honestly, with this cancelled I think he should do the first 3-4 months of the Hedwig tour.
I doubt he would want to. His stamina must be completely down by now.
To modern day viewers watching a broadcast show, hell yeah it is. It's why they chose to do The Wiz instead. Music Man is as white and boring as you can get. They wanted some flavor after the terrible peter pan.

I never locked in with this show, but no one can accuse NPH of not giving it his all. The stunts and weirdness he was pulling off weekly were rather impressive.

I'm sorry, but did you hear that from Zadan & Meron, or some bums off the street?
Zadan and Meron have said multiple times that they wanted to do a more offbeat popular show that had a connection to pop culture. I mean really, they have said it in literally every wiz interview.
^I know they said that, but they also said that they are waiting for the right star before they officially decide to do The Music Man.
I personally think America is just tired of Neil Patrick Harris (which speaks to the poor ratings of this show). He's been overexposed ever since How I Met Your Mother, and especially overexposed since he came out of the closet, got married, had babies and hosted every award show for the last 5 years.
I love Neil. Really, I do. With all of my heart. But I feel like his last few attempts at something big (Hedwig, "Best Time Ever"
have ended (or not been extended) due to "exhausting" work being put into it. I admire his work but maybe he needs to go back to something that doesn't take such a physical toll on the poor guy.
ETA: I am probably in the VAST minority here, but I far prefer The Music Man to The Wiz. *hides*

I've noticed that being a reason given lately too. I admire him and his talent, I'm just tired of him. I don't know how HIMYM wasn't as exhausting, since I've heard their shooting schedule was more exhaustive than normal 3-camera sitcoms (since they weren't filmed in front of a studio audience). I hope he takes a well-deserved break and gets some rest.
I agree, Music Man is simply better than The Wiz (especially the score).

NPH isn't necessarily over exposed, he should just stick to doing films. He was good in Gone Girl. He's basically "done" TV, won awards, hosted shows, and so on. Hes won a Tony and played one of the most intriguing roles on broadway. He should focus on films now.
