With her big TV comeback with The View, do you think she will possibly host the Tonys this year? I think she should. I mean, look what happened when she joined The View. Ratings blew up.
Do you think they'd ask her to do it?
Please, God, NO!

Well, it would be better than having no host at all, like last year.
Really? Would it?
Because the great thing about having no host is, they don't sing.
Bring back Hugh Jackman. And let him do high kicks.
I wasn't crazy about Hugh Jackman hosting. He was ok. I was at the awards in June and the no host thing was ok. Things moved along at a nice pace. I am not a big Rosie fan, but it would be fun to see her host again. I do admire her passion for theatre. But I would think they might not ask her simply because she is constantly in the news these days for opening her mouth on The View. But....that could possibly bring in a few more viewers. She has bumped up the ratings on the show from what I have heard.
Do we really believe the host makes a difference as far as ratings go? People either watch the Tonys or they don't. If they're not interested in theater, they're not going to watch because Rosie or Hugh is hosting. Especially Rosie. They can see her every single day on their TV.
I'd pick Rosie over Hugh anytime. But last year's Tonys were really fun w/o a host.
I love Rosie and I hope she does host the Tonys this year. Rath is correct in the fact that no matter who hosts, the ratings will be the same. I just like Rosie and know how much she loves Broadway and would love to see her host again.
Julie Andrews!!!!!!! (If only that were even a possibility.)

Very true Rath. Didn't think about it like that.
But my pont still stands. Rosie should host.
I love it when Rosie hosts, I'd love for her to do it again this year.
You know, when I watched last year and Julie Andrews came out for, I think, the last award presentation, it just seemed to me that the whole tenor and quality of the show was boosted about 1,000 percent. I just felt that while she was taking care of things, nothing weird or embarrassing or awkward could possibly happen. I'd be thrilled if she could host the whole show. Why wouldn't that be even a possibility? Has she said she wouldn't do it? Or are you just assuming that the producers would want to go for someone with more "mass appeal"?
Karen
I would like to see Megan Mulally Host. That would be a good show!
Lilith and Niles!!
That's brilliant, Rath.
I just mentioned Hugh Jackman because I like it when he does high kicks. But then again, I'm gay.
I know.
Seriously, I bet David Hyde Pierce would do a fantastic job.
Rosie has a following beyond the theatre community. I think the ratings can be higher if she hosts. You never know...
Re: Lilith and Niles: And since they're both on Broadway right now, it could work. At the very least have the two of them present an award together.
Muscle, they see her host a show every day. There's no draw there. If she were strictly a movie star/actress, people might be curious to see her host.
The problem is that every year CBS tries to make the Tony Awards a ratings winner, and that's NEVER GONNA HAPPEN. They should just suck it up and let it be a "prestige" event. I hate that about CBS... wait a minute, which thread am I on?
David Hyde Pierce would be great! they could have Kelsey Grammer present too, and the guy who played Martin Krane...they're all on broadway this season!

Hugh will be in Australia in June filming Baz Luhrmann's epic with Nicole Kidman so I'm sure he's out of the mix.

I just hope they have a host! I hated last years awards. Maybe Martin Short?
or Marin Mazzie?
ETA: Crap, you fixed it, now mine's not funny.
