Yes, it's limped along for awhile now but it had a strong and successful run.

Six was the last musical I saw before the shutdown and the first I saw after reopening. It holds a special place in my heart. Congrats to the Queens on a great run!

This show is as cheap as chips to run, the only cheaper show to run is maybe Strangers and Oh Mary. Good example this show has toured hard in every corner of the US, the show is small and can play non equity venues the 1/2 night sit down like Newport News or Peoria etc as a Equity tour.

I wish I was one of the shows backers!

It feels like anyone who has wanted to see this has already seen it in New York, on tour, and now in theaters. What would be the appeal of moving it to New World Stages besides a cheaper operating cost?

So what’s next for the Lena Horne? Its last two tenants have combined to run for just over a decade - and it’s a cozy, midsized playhouse finally up for grabs.

I personally think it’ll be Brendan Hunt’s one-man show, followed by 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU.

Eh. There are not really ways to measure these things but as someone who only floats around the edges of the internet standom part of theatre, it hasn’t sustained that much of its fanbase tbh. I can’t figure out why. I’ve suggested to friends it’s because of the arrangements. Writing songs inspired by the styles of Adele, Beyonce, Ariana, etc was inspired buttttt those people are living pop stars not fixed ideals. So now Six just sounds like middling 2010s pop. Which is what it always was but that connection is just not there with the young audience post-COVID. None of that is even remotely what pop music sounds like today. It’s like a show in 2005 where the music is all early 90s house and mid 90s beeper puns. The party is over.
