This is one of the only times I've ever felt unclean reading a news article.
Former Cast Member: That video is deeply embarrassing and traumatizing, and why I don't perform anymore.

I'm kind of sad that more of the cast members don't find it as funny as the rest of us do. It just makes it so we're laughing at them instead of with them.
Most SNL skits (and musical performances) are not available on YouTube due to copyright claims. They want you to watch on their platforms (Hulu and I’m guessing Peacock?)
I honestly had thought the SNL sketch (not skit) was just based on kid-theatre experiences, not an actual viral Legally Blonde video! The last paragraph of the Rolling Stone article is great.

Also the second to the last paragraph is so true. I experienced that feeling all through school from 6th grade through my senior year of high school. It was the best and that SNL skit, especially the backstage conversation, nailed it.
I was never a theatre kid, so I can't directly relate, but I admire the theatre people who can just put all that self-consciousness away! (And I totally get why people still talk about their high school theatre performances decades later.)

i didn’t know about the meme until the other day when i read that article but the youtube video is pretty hilarious. at one point a boy is playing Courtney and they change the name of the character… even though the name Courtney is actually unisex.
