Yay i get to see the show again~
They’ve also recouped their $4.8 million investment!
I’m so thrilled it’s coming to London. It’ll be nice to see it again. Really hope though they bring the whole OBC over cause that cast was truly one of a kind!

I'm a little bit confused around the timing of that announcement. For sure, it doesn't speak to when they recouped, but I am wondering, did they need to extent twice on Broadway to even have a chance at recouping?

West End, licensing, and tour announcements all in the same day? Looks like they got that settlement ironed out and Ken will probably be getting a nice check out of all of this.

Hopefully this also means the book will finally come out. I already have a copy now but the wait was insane.
My favorite west end theater too. Excited to catch this again.

Saw this show on Broadway and loved it!! I wish it success on the West End and on tour.
Will Brill confirmed at the stage door tonight that he is not transferring with the show to London and choosing to take a break.

Getting just as many raves in London as it did in NYC, nice to see, wonder who is doing the tour
I didn't see another thread for the tour anywhere, so am posting here. I saw this yesterday at the Pantages. According to the writer, this 'radio edit' version of the play was shortened for the tour although it still felt long at just below three hours.
Overall I thought it was good, but not great. I came away feeling like it was a little overrated and didn't meet the level set by all the insane hype from last year. I felt like it could've been shortened by another 5-10 minutes without losing anything critical. The second half in particular dragged a bit. Great set design, though. The physical production looked stellar on the Pantages stage. Also loved the music.
The cast was good, although the characters I most connected with were the engineer and his assistant. It felt like the show was working overtime to have you invested in Diana and Peter, but I found myself caring less about either of them. IMO the other band members weren't fleshed out enough, especially the relationship between Reg and Holly. I would be interested to know what exactly was cut, as it felt like both these characters had a lot less to do.
There definitely were a few walk outs at intermission, at least in the area where I was sitting. Overall I liked it but IMO it also doesn't live up to the hype.
You saw a shortened version at the Pantages (WAAAAAAAY to big for this intimate show) with a different cast. They are completely different beasts now. The the hype paid off at Playwrights and on Broadway. THAT was the time to see it - intimate / semi-intimate, perfectly cast (the originals, not the understudies) and fresh - and definitely not at the Pantages.
