I think I might try to rush the Sweet Charity matinee on Tony day - next sunday. I have some questions though.
- Are the stars usually in performing for the matinee?
- After the show, is there a chance they might do quick autographs - or will they leave right away to get ready for the big night?
Hopefully some of you might have some helpful answers from your previous experiences seeing a matinee on Tony day.
I'd think that the "star" performers will be there. As for the autographs, I don't know. But I'd assume that they have to leave their respective theatres before heading off to the Tonys. So you might catch them if you're quick enough. But I've never done it on Tony night.

I am seeing Julius Caesar on Tony Day. Sadly, that show was shut out at the tony awards so it won't have as much excitement. Oh well, it's still Denzel on stage just with him not having to worry about writing an acceptance speech.
i'm going to the tony's that night, but i'm going to try to catch the DRS or Spelling Bee matinee in the afternoon. i'm seeing "spamalot" and "the light in the piazza" on wednesday and i am going to try to get one more nominated show in before sunday night! i can't believe that i hadn't seen anything that was nominated yet!

Usually all of the cast members are in the show the day of Tony's. If they are out, it is a non-Tony related issue.

I've never known any cast members to be out of their shows that afternoon. If you're fortunate enough to get a ticket for the rehearsal that day, you can see them on stage at Radio City, rehearsing (primarily) for the cameras. They leave there, in costume, and head to their respective theatres. I imagine they're so 'up' for the awards that night that they'd be happy to sign anything!
They're usually there, from what I know.
