Oh man, I remember when he wandered into Cabaret and thought it was an actual Cabaret. He bought merch and drinks for a bunch of us at the tables. Hilarious.
I hope he is professional and non problematic these days.....
Oh boy, what a duo. I can't wait to never see this :)
Meanwhile, glad to see Mamet's head remains not-screwed-on correctly.
“Constantin Stanislavski wrote that any director who does something interesting with the text does not understand the text. Most stage directors are only English teachers with a stage manager to bring them tea while they confuse the actors. God forgive them, and may God bless Ms. Ryan.”
Oy, what a messy duo.
What’s next? A Roman Polanski film starring Kevin Spacey?
Times are hard in ole Hollywood town, but Ms. Ryan may need industrial-strength Febreze after this fiasco.

I’ll skip this, I won’t spend my money on the Trump loving, liberal bashing Mamet!

Anyway!
When I think of how that man's bullsh*t book on acting was pushed on a whole bunch of us as some kind of holy text, I want to start a class action suit against every acting program in existence in the early to mid-90s.

The fact that Mamet was taken so seriously as an acting / theatre theorist is genuinely hilarious. His entire theory can be boiled down to, "Everything in theatre, from performance to direction, should be in service of me- I mean, in service of the playwright."
