Shoshana falls off stage in Wicked 9/20! No injuries!

Holy crap. I just got back from Wicked in NYC. Let me say first, Wicked's still got it.

Anyway, when Shoshana ran in for her entrance before "Dear Old Shiz" she ran too far and stumbled and then FELL OFF THE STAGE!! Luckily, there was some kind of tarp platform that caught her or else she would have gone right into the pit! She put a hole through that tarp/platform thing with her leg. Megan ran forward and helped her up. I was in shock, but the show went on as always after that. Really scary.

No, no. Saycon didn't come on. Shoshana got back on stage with Megan's help. Megan exited like she always does and "Dear Old Shiz" went on like always. So did the rest of the show - amazingly, I might add.

i just got the funniest visual ever. THANK YOU SHOSHANA FOR BEING CLUMSY

That sucks.

I would have gotten excited Saycon would come on.

Seriously, was she on roller skates?

The stage is huge? WTF was she thinking?

I take it back, a paper bag would never do something so stupid.

yeah, that's what i want to know.

so they didn't stop the show at all? they just continued as normal??

what was the audience's reaction? and what about the ensemble members??? was it a blatant error...

more details please!!

I would have cracked up

If I won the lotto tonight, the only thing going through my head would be "Whoa, look at that fierce, green jewish girl coming my way. Oh look, she's on aunt harriet's lap now!"

What do you mean was it a blatant error?

You don't just run out having the audience think it was done on purpose.

Shoshana must be reading these boards and thought she'd try to end her contract early.

The thing is, when Elphaba runs out the stage is really really dark execept for a few spots. And they make her stop at nearly the edge of the stage, so I mean an extra step or a little slip and your a gonner.

edct- that is probobly why there IS as a tarp/net in the pic as described.... amazingly they plan for that but fiyero's F*cking rope manages to screw someone in that scene up majorly with a fair amount of frequency
