I would love to see Curious Incident live streamed before it closes, but I doubt it will happen.

The video of the London production of CURIOUS INCIDENT is a pretty perfect capture of the play.

I second this. What a great show! And seeing that the chances of them creating a cast recording is slim, it would be nice to have this available to see again. And again. I'm hoping that I'm wrong about the OCR and that they surprise us!
I loved the article they did that's posted on the old AP website where they did a photo shoot with the cast upon its closing and had them share their thoughts about the experience. They hit the nail on the head in so many ways. And glad they had such a great time bringing this show to Broadway. Even if it wasn't received as well as we all would have hoped.

Yes, Falsettos gets my vote, especially since it's a limited run, and probably won't tour. This show deserves preservation. Hopefully it will prove a worthy production

A WORLD of YES to both these and others who said FALSETTOS!!!!! After Mandy Patinkin took over the role of Marvin he was working on getting a TV film made of FALSETTOS for Showtime. (He told me this himself at the time.) Obviously this never panned out. We NEED some sort of (official) film documentation of this amazing show!!!

I don't understand why more shows don't work a potential film into the initial budget. If the show is a flop they stand to make some of the investment back through DVD and streaming sales than if the show just closes without it. It may take years or decades to make back but at least the opprtunity exists to make a profit from the final product. Although then we would only ever get films of the flops. Though it seems like the majority of shows that do get filmed are either concerts, limited runs or flops.

I don't have membership to Broadway HD so I have a couple of questions:
1) Was the show captioned or subtitled?
2) Is it a one time or is it on repeat?
Thanks.

I'm sure when they edit the show and put it back up in a few weeks it will be captioned. At least, I hope it will be, for all my Deaf/HH friends. I'm sure the one up there now is not captioned since it was streamed live. And if you pay for it now you can have access to it for a few more days (I think) until they take it down to do the editing. Then when it's put up again you can have access to it anytime with a subscription to Broadway HD.

Would love to see top shows do this once they've established a closing date. But not just Broadway, also, would love to see top theaters (Papermill, Roundabout, Alley, MUNY, etc.) live stream. What about the Hollywood Bowl productions like the upcoming ACL? Producers also need to make more use of limited showings in movie theaters, like the Met does.

There are plenty of regularly occurring, but limited engagement concerts/events I'd like to see:
• BBC Proms w/The John Wilson Orchestra (their 2012 “My Fair Lady” would have been nice)
• Any/all of the NY City Center Encores concerts
• Broadway Backwards and Broadway Bares
• Actors Fund benefit concerts (i.e. “Chess” w/Adam Pascale and Josh Groban would have been nice).
In the case of benefit concerts, I'd be glad to pay a little more than the $9.99 (say, up to $14.99) if that extra money were donated to the cause.

Thank you. I hope Broadway HD FAQ will address this issue.

I think they missed out on the opportunity to stream Cabaret. I know the London production was filmed but I would have loved to have seen that production live on film (especially with Emma Stone as Sally).

The London recording of Curious is ok, but I would love to see if filmed with the proscenium staging.

I'd love to see The Color Purple on film. Though, with the bland set, etc, it might not transfer well to the screen.
Fun Home would be great given we will never see this staging replicated.

Is there a chance at "Falsettos" being filmed for Live From Lincoln Center? A real chance, I mean.

I think that Falsettos would be the perfect candidate for a live stream. It's a well loved, rarely performed musical that is currently on Broadway in a critically acclaimed limited engagement. Thoughts?

Be careful, or Uncle Charlie will tell you to fund it.

Haha snap.
TCP and Fun Home wouldn't have done it because they are both touring (going to, in case of TCP). Falsettos doesn't have any touring plans announced, but there was buzz about them wanting to extend. They might move off-Broadway or go on tour (though nothing's announced yet).

This production was captured at the Donmar. It's not with Liev, but it's the same physical production.
