Believe this is a much better fit for her...Nothing against what she's doing in School of Rock, it just has not felt like the best match for her talents.

Why would she have a French accent in French? If anything she'd have an American accent (even if she tries to get rid of it).

I really enjoyed her Christine, but I want to see her do something different. Something NOT ALW (you're right, School of Rock doesn't fit her very well).

technically she would be using a Swedish / Scandinavian accent, come to think of it. (Christine is Swedish in the novel)

Wasn't she born in France, though?

Born in Sweden, and raised there during her childhood (at least), but also spent considerable years in Paris for her music education (in the book). Musical - not stated clearly.

Thanks! But I doubt they'd bother to teach her to perform it in a Swedish accent on top of having to perform in a second language...

LOL true. I suppose that the non-native French speakers in the production would be working with a dialect/ accent coach to sound convincingly French. It would be awful if Christine spoke/ sang with an American accent, while the Phantom sang / spoke with a British accent etc.

Was Sierra always rumored to open School of Rock in London or is the BWW article implying something that wasn't there?

I wonder who's going to replace her in SOR... Would love to see Julia Murney in the role!

Is Sara Chase available for School of Rock?

ALW referred to her as the best. I respectfully disagree. I thought she was too aloof in the role. It was clear she was acting.
I saw her with Norm Lewis the same night I saw Mary Michael Patterson in the afternoon. I thought Ms. Patterson's interpretation was far superior, as was Trista Mouldovan's.
There is much I dislike about the new touring production, not the least of which is Chris Mann's performance. However, I consider Katie Travis's performance the new standard against which all Christines should be measured. She is absolutely fabulous. I interviewed her for BWW and found her to be a nice person as well - icing on the cake. ?

"Shelved indefinitely" due to the fire which broke out at the theater.

Happy for her? Did you not see that this production has been cancelled and the thread is from over a year ago?

It seems kind of stupid they didn't just postpone the opening to the theatre reopening. Hopefully it happens sooner than later. Maybe it wasn't selling well?

According to the Playbill article, there's already a production lined up for when the theater reopens.
