I just went and checked the City Center website and it says tickets were supposed to go on sale in October but I can't find a link to actually buy the tickets. Does anyone know when they actually go on sale or why they are taking so long? I imagine it has something to do with the fact they have yet to announce the main cast (save for Ebersole, of course).

Actually, it's because like most subscriber-based theatre (and opera and dance) organizations, they want to force you to buy a full subscription before they put individual shows on sale. Single seats probably won't be available for a few more weeks.

Thanks, Margo. I am pretty sure by this time last year I had bought my FOLLIES ticket and they had announced just about everyone involved except for Victor Garber. I'm just trying to plan a trip to the city for next year so I'm a bit anxious. Their website has the wrong info regarding single tickets sales I guess.

Give City Center a call when you get a chance. Perhaps, they just haven't made single seats available online yet.

The single seat tickets have been on sale for a while now. They don't make them easy to find though. You have to go through the calendar page...not through the Encores header.

That's exactly how I got mine. They're probably trying to push the subscriptions. I didn't renew this year because I'm going to be out of town for both Juno AND No No Nannette and it would be a waste to have tickets to all three and miss two.
jay* ~ I sat in front and rear for Gypsy and found all the "GOD! IT'S SOOOOOO BAD!" posts on here to be pretty much untrue. I didn't mind it at all. And I can be something of a seat snob...or I thought I could. But I didn't have a problem with them. At all.

Thanks everyone for their input. I will look for tickets tonight though I'm still not convinced I should buy them without hearing who's gonna be in the cast. Encores! is pretty good in terms of casting but I don't think Ebersole is a big enough name to carry a show that is mundane without a big star. The score itself is pretty blah (though I do love "One Halloween," especially as performed by Penny Fuller). I am hoping for Erin Davie, Annie Hathaway, Leigh Ann Larkin, Anika Noni Rose or even Jenny Powers (the last four have a history with Encores!) to get the role. I'm intrigued to see what names they are looking at.

I didn't renew this year either--and I had a charter subscription from the first season, two seats 15th row center for 13 years--but I just went online and got two tickets for Applause.
