Now this is exactly how stupid rumors get started.
Also, Reddit is just something for people who have already been banned from Twitter!

My exact seats were automatically moved to the new Sun Oct 15th 3pm show, and I was given the option to exchange to another date if i so choose......including earlier performances on Sept 28, 29 or 30th, that are indeed still happening as planned
The only 'issue' seems to be that they're now looking to a more typical performance schedule, where Mondays are dark....."
Is the Sunday, Oct. 15 show really new, though? I recall seeing it on the schedule before, and a poster here buying tickets for that date during the presale (around the same time I got tickets for the Tuesday, Oct. 17 preview performance in the same seats).
The Sunday, Oct. 15 performance is at 2 p.m., not 3, per The Shed’s website.
Anyway, the dropped previews don’t seem too surprising. There never was a Thursday, Oct. 19 preview, for example, a few days before the opening.
It all adds to the mystery, though. I guess I will believe I am seeing Here We Are when I am actually there and the show starts.

Huh?
There are like 3 other people called Voter on here, FYI.

Well, yes, that's why I referred TO the info as a rumor.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
if the production is dropping PREVIEWS, it could be that there are new scheduling conflicts within the cast (potentially stuff that was up in the air when negotiating contracts, but was communicated could be a schedule issue)
Most productions don't rehearse understudies extensively until after the show opens. My guess (complete guess) is they would rather not take time to rehearse in an understudy when the show is making changes/isn't frozen, and would focus on canceling performances/rescheduling rather than going through the extra hassle of plugging someone in when the show isn't frozen.
Hey, I'm the person who made the comment on reddit about being impacted.
Like the other person in this thread, I bought a ticket for the 2nd and was offered tickets for Oct 15th, but I was offered tickets for a 7:30pm performance.
I ended up just requesting a refund and buying a ticket for the 4th. I'll have to extend my planned trip by a day.
I emailed the shed for a comment and I'll let ya'll know what I hear.

If your information is correct, there will be two shows on Sunday, Oct. 15, at 2 and 7:30 p.m. That would be somewhat surprising, but perhaps an opportunity for people to pick up seats to an unexpected Sunday evening preview performance. (As of this writing, there is no 7:30 p.m performance on The Shed’s website.)
I guess it is indicative of exactly how much of a bubble we are all in that after all the frenzy there are still lots of tickets for sale for this while down at The Public, Hell's Kitchen--which we're barely talking about at all--is nearly sold out, with only a handful of tickets available (in ones and twos mostly) for an even smaller handful of performances that are not yet sold out.

Hell’s Kitchen is running for 6-7 weeks compared to HWA’s 15 week run. Hell’s Kitchen is also playing in a venue that is 299 seats vs 5something.

A preview performance has been added on Sunday evening, Oct. 15. There are some $129 tickets left for those looking.
It looks like they have finally sold out the first performance. As for the rest, well they've still got ages of time. I notice that tickets seem to move closer to curtain the pre-covid these days. If you look at many Broadway shows that far out you'll notice heaps of availability. I do wonder if they have been a bit over-ambitious with the pricing though.
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
I’m not sure the pricing was necessarily a mistake from a business perspective. Plenty of premium seats have been sold for a total mystery of a show and The Shed got some subscriptions. If it’s terrible, those tickets have already been purchased. If it’s good or at least worthwhile, the remaining tickets will sell later. And unless people have no choice, like me planning a cross-country trip for a few days in October, they can wait.
This article interviewed an "insider" who claims there will be six songs in the first act with one being repeated in every scene. They also claim there are zero songs in the second act. I think someone in this thread something similar?

Are we seriously linking to this idiot in the NY Post? LOL Have you ever watched any interviews with this guy? He's nothing but a bitchy theatre queen who hates everything and has nothing nice to say about any show.
steve.sometime said: "Are we going to get no visual design for Sondheim's last musical??? It's less than 40 days away, there's not even a teaser logo. What is going on???"
I’d guess that if there isn’t even a second act, they’ll be more worried about that.
This is starting to feel like a dastardly ego-fueled endeavor. Would Sondheim have wanted anyone to see this? If he indeed never wanted it performed, should we let our curiosity get the best of us and go watch it anyway?
