"The Last Midnight" from INTO THE WOODS and "Could I Leave You?" from FOLLIES have always perplexed me.
The introduction of 'I Want To Be Seen With You Tonight' from Funny Girl is incredibly similar to the introduction of 'You'll Never Get Away From Me' from Gypsy (Same rhythm/melody, only different harmony/instrumentation)
Whenever I think of Jerry Herman's "Mame" my mind always transitions it straight into Sondheim and Styne's "Mr. Goldstone." I have to wonder if "Gypsy" wasn't on Herman's mind around the time of writing "Mame." :)
