Just throwing in more love for the Bee. I won lotto this past Saturday and got to see Todd Buonopane as Barfee. He's fantastic! He even cracked up Celia when he put his arm around her during Olive and Barfee's dance sequence.
And sitting in the "popcorn seats" is always fun.

One can never express enough love for The Bee. It is so exciting to me when I remember this show's journey and think that last year at this time it was at Second Stage. The show was sold out but I don't know if the cast realized that Broadway was a possibility--and now to think that it has won Tonys and that sit down productions and tours are being produced all over- makes me so incredibly happy. I love that these adorable middle school misfits and their dysfunctional Bee guardians will become familiar to audiences all over the country...
I saw a video from the show when it was at the Farm, and it was so funny. It's amazing how far it has come.
If anyone wants to see a video of Lisa Howard's performance of Rona's Lament (I think that's what it was called)- the cut ballad from Bee- from Cutz last night, PM me.
I don't know, but I'll let you know if I find out.
And I know that you know Deborah and want to see her, but Lisa is excellent as Marcy, and really nice at the stage door as well. Give her a try!

Just wanted to add my love. :) I live near SF (moved to the bay area about six months ago, and love it b/c I can feed my theater passion); anyway, whenever my mom comes to visit, I take her to a show in the city.
We saw Spelling Bee this last Sunday...whereupon, after the show, I turned to her and said, "Well, does this make up for Lestat?" :)
This thread is too long for me to go through so I apologize if this has already been discussed....but does anyone know if there will be anymore casting changes before June? I saw the original cast last year but want to take my best friend to see it this coming June when we are there on vacation. I told him this was one of the must see shows while we are there. Thanks!
That might be hard, Jersey Boys rush sells out pretty quick and only at certain times in the day. But good luck!
Uncageg, I think most (if not all) of the people in the show will be extending for a couple months at least, the first person that I know is leaving isn't til July. But things can change.
Thanks liotte! I fell in love with the original cast and got to meet and talk with a few of them. I know there is a new Barfee. That's ok, the rest of the cast was what I was worried about. Especially Jesse and Sarah. They just had me on the floor. I got to meet Sarah and actually have about a 10 minute conversation with her last year. What a nice person! I bumped into Jesse at Sweeney Todd this past November and we spoke briefly. Nice guy.
The whole cast is amazing, they are all very nice and great to chat with. I don't want anyone to leave, but I know they all will move on to bigger things.
bill finn, is my hero, and i havn't been on here in while, so of corse this was the first thing to catch my eye. i saw it in december, and my love for the bee grows daily.
I'm seeing it in SF tomorrow for the second time. I really enjoyed the entire cast. I had really high expectations, and they were exceeded. I anticipate that I will spend quite a lot of money on tickets as long as it's in SF.
Liotte, is that your dog? Is it a miniature? I have a toy.
