I saw the show for the first time after being addicted the soundtrack forever. I joined Broadway World today specifically so that I could write my review of this and join in on the conversation after watching this board from afar for so many months. The show last night, was great, with two covers, Dana Steingold and Angelica Lee Aspiras.
Overall, I think the cast was stellar. Having never seen the show live, this was my first encounter with it, but I think this cast will forever remain tops in my head.
Angelica Aspiras was on as Rona. She has a really great voice though seemed a bit younger than what I had envisioned in the role. I was a bit disapointed only because I love Jennifer Simard's work so much after seeing her in Forbidden Broadway. But, Angelica did a really lovely job.
James Kall was a great Panch. Creepy and funny, both. Katie Boren (Marcy) was impressive in her big number and Sarah Stiles (Logainne) was really funny as Logainne. She did a rant about Britney Spears, something about how the curtains didn't match the drapes and blonde celebrities? Do all the companies do the same speech or do they each write them?
Michael Zahler was one of my favorites as Leaf. His cape flew off into the audience at one point! He recovered extremely well and was really enjoyable, funny and touching. His monster was great because it was a cat which tied together so many things.
Dana Steingold was on as Olive and she was fabulous. She was so so tiny and cute and has the most amazing voice. She is also so touching acting wise, you just root for her and love her. This girl is a STAR.
Eric Peterson was also fantastic. He was not what I physically pictured, but proved himself right away. He's also really endearing.
Finally, Alan H. Green is awesome as Mitch. He, and his voice, are huge, better than the original recording
I wanted to meet everyone but was too nervous to go the Stagedoor and bother people. Go see the tour. They are awesome. And if any of them read this, you guys gave me such an amazing gift last night. I am officially obsessed with this show!

I haven't been on this board for a very long time, mostly because since the Bee left SF i've been really sad, so coming here only makes me sadder.

It will be interesting to hear reactions about the OBC in LA from all the people who saw Bee (repeatedly) in SF and love that cast, and will make the trip down the coast to check it out.

I just made my mother and sister see the show before the cast change, and they loved it!
Glad that they liked the show!
Can't believe it is that final week already!
This may have been answered already but...
Do we know what Barrett's next plans are? He won't be going to LA, so anything lined up yet that has been announced?

So tonight's the first of the lasts...the last tuesday night this cast will perform in the Bee on Broadway I imagine it will get progressly harder for them as the week goes on.
I hope there are lots of fans coming out to support throughout the week. I wonder if Sunday night is sold out. I'm going...but it's bittersweet.
Definitely bittersweet. Not looking forward to this weekend.
Barrett's website has been updated- He is going to be in Pirates! at Papermill. Congrats to Barrett on his new role!
I'm going to see the show tonight. I will miss the whole cast!!! I'm glad I'm seeing it one last time before they leave.
im seeing bee in orlando fri night YAY
i'll finally be able to see why L has seen this show so many times and loved it, .
Just got home from Jose's final show in NYC. I wish I could say that he had a heartfelt, wonderful speech for his sendoff, but no.
David Stone's speech at the end of the show was the worst goodbye speech I have ever heard. He presented his goodbye to all 8 of the people leaving the cast this weekend by basically saying "These people are leaving, here are their names, and give money to BCEFA in their honor." I don't think he even said thank you or recognized their hard work at all.
Hopefully on Sunday night, there will be a better and more proper goodbye to everyone.

I was not only extremely disappointed with him but just downright mad about it. These people have worked so damn hard and been wonderful, it's his fault they are leaving, and he couldn't care less.
