As long as "Turn Off the Dark" "Freak Like Me" "If The World Should End" and "Just Can't Walk Away" are in there then I will be happy.
The other two songs that I loved were "Rise Above" and "Boy Falls From the Sky" which obviously will be on the OBCR.
The idol perfomance was weak, Bono sounded awful, Reeve sounded good but the singing should have been left to him. Also the song which is such an amazing song in the show that they should have just done that version. How they can think those new versus etc are better than the original is beyond me.
They need to let the cast get out there and perform songs from the show.
That's what it sounds like in the theater. Just as awful.

I don't like how the performance was so heavily focused on Bono. I kind of wish it was Reeve singing most of the song considering that they were trying to promote Spider-Man and Reeve is, afterall, the superhero himself.
Here is the Songs on the Album in this order (According to Amazon.com)
1. NY Debut (Instrumental)
2. Boy Falls From the Sky
3. Rise Above 1 - Reeve Carney Featuring Bono And The Edge
4. Picture This
5. I Just Can't Walk Away (Say It Now)
6. Bouncing Off the Walls
7. Pull the Trigger
8. No More
9. DIY World
10. If The World Should End
11. Sinistereo
12. A Freak Like Me Needs Company
13. Rise Above 2
14. Turn Off the Dark

That's horrifying. It's nice that we're at least getting something, but that does look more like a concept album than an actual cast recording. It might help ticket sales, but it's definitely not any sort of reference recording that might help the show if they intend for it to have a life beyond Broadway.

Looks like this is more of a soundtrack than a cast recording.

A little later, I'm guessing, an extended album will be released. Shows have done this before. but is A Freak Like Me Needs Company the new song, or a new title for Deeply Furious?

That seems like an oddly put together album. Kind of a random order it seems. I'm a bit surprised Behold and Wonder was left off; I thought it was better than many of the songs left on.

It's not like it's being called an Original Cast Recording.... it's being called 'Music From Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark". Looks to me like the songs were put together like an actual album, as opposed to the show order. If the order makes such a difference to you, change it with iTunes. As for the omitted songs... better than nothing, no?
"Pull the Trigger" or "D.I.Y. World" needs to go. "Behold and Wonder" should most definitely be on there.
But I am just happy to see all the Peter Parker and MJ songs on there.
Also, did they change the song title of "Freak Like Me"? Because when I saw the show the playbill didn't have the long song title of "Freak Like Me Needs Company" printed in it.
They didn't even include the title song, wow
@rentfan2 --- What title song? "Turn Off the Dark" and "Boy Falls From the Sky" are both listed on the recording.
I really liked Bullying By Numbers- I like Matt Caplan.
^
There's a title song that the company sings called "Spider-Man!" that takes place in the second act right before the new scene where the Goblin leaves a message for JJ.
Oh, yup, I missed that woops! :)
Now what the hell is Rise Above 2?
^Rise Above 2 is basically the version that is heard in the show. Rise Above 1 is the version where the verse lyrics are changed and Bono sings most of it. It also was the one that was performed on the American Idol finale a couple of nights ago.
So this is basically just so Bono can have a single out again.
