Posted: 9/6/18 at 8:26pmI was lucky enough to meet sutton foster at mean girls in july! she was so sweet and so humble. I also got to meet willemijn verkaik at Frozen earlier this year, she was very friendly and didn’t mind saying hi to us! Will never forget that as I am a huge fan of both.

how do you know she didn't mind? most actors I know do mind, but they are actors so they know how to act in a way that doesn't show it, because they don't want you posting about how nasty they were to you. Think about it next time!

Since we don't have the BroadwaySpotted web site anymore, let's talk and see who spotted someone they recognized in the audience of a Broadway or Off-Broadway show.

Posted: 9/6/18 at 10:01pmGreta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach were a couple of rows behind me at Mike Birbiglia’s The New One last month. I also saw Joel Grey during intermission at one of Ben Platt’s final DEH shows. I saw him, internally freaked out, then nodded at him politely.

Oh, calm down. lol
If your copious actor friends are pissy about a fan saying hello when they spot them at a Broadway show - where they are VERY likely to be recognized given the audience - they need to think about it.
Anyway.
Most recently, I saw Benj Pasek and Sarah Paulson at Skintight (on separate occasions). And Harvey Fierstein at The Boys in the Band.
Hillary Clinton was at Matilda when I went a couple years ago. And George and Barbara Bush were at a performance of In the Heights in Houston several years ago.

Ryan Murphy and Cyndi Lauper were at the closing performance of War Paint I was at. I didn't realize who Ryan Murphy was until afterwards, I had a brief conversation with him on the refreshments line while he was on the bathroom line lol. I did know he must have been important though, he was wearing the most insane full red bandanna print suit I've ever seen. My mom dodged in front of Cyndi to head back in to her seat and sat down and realized who she accidentally bumped with her purse lol. I saw her sneak out the door later that night

Helen Mirren, David Schwimmer, Harvey Weinstein (ew), Mamie Gummer, Nick Jonas, Stephen Moyer...
I saw Jesse Eisenberg and Vanessa Redgrave in “The Revisionist” and Judith Light and Sally Field were in the audience.
And Emily Blunt and John Krasinski were in the audience seeing “Reasons To Be Happy” when I saw it, and I picked up their tickets from their seats after they left and they both have John’s name on them.

There were a lot at the final performance of The Color Purple. Debra Messing, Billy Porter, Mariska Hargitay, and THE CLINTONS. It was wild.

Posted: 9/6/18 at 10:57pmShe didn’t mind... she was beyond kind and kept the conversation going and i didn’t stay and talk to her for too long i was thoughtful, it’s not that deep. I know many celebs who will say no thank you or something like that which is perfectly fine and not rude.

At the end of the 25th anniversary production of Susan Stroman's Crazy for You at Geffen Hall, I stayed standing at my seat to listen to the orchestra finish. I noticed a couple of men cutting threw my row on their way out. The first one put his hands lightly on my shoulders to pass and smiled. He had a bright red handkerchief in his suit pocket. Mel Brooks.
At the afterparty of the New York Pops' season opener I saw Lea Salonga completely alone at the buffet table in her beautiful rose gown. Since I already had in mind a compliment to throw her, and since I had already had a couple of glasses of wine, I went over and greeted her and told her how lovely I thought her voice had sounded when she had stepped in front of the mike and sang unamplified. I threw in that I had heard Kelli O'Hara sing unmiked at the Sheen Center several months before, and I wished that I could hear great voices like hers and Kelli's sing unmiked more often. Not wishing to overstay my welcome, I smiled and bid her good night.
So that's all I've got to show for all these years.

At Hello, Dolly! on separate occasions: Oprah, Audra McDonald, Ana Gasteyer and the kids from Fun Home. I know there were a few others but I forget.
Anne Hathaway and Elle Fanning at Hedwig.
Jonathan Groff at A Doll’s House Part 2.
Rebecca Luker at the final performance of Fun Home and she was so, so lovely. I talked to her before we sat down for a lengthy conversation and she ended up sitting directly behind me.
